Ok just to start the only modification on my car was a dealer install mazdaspeed cai at about 5k miles. I currently have about 19.5K miles on the car. Cleaned air filter at 19K problem happened before and after cleaning.
This problem has happened about a 4-6 times over the last 2-3 months. I will hit the gas and the car stutters like a gas clog problem and then dark smoke from the exhaust spews out. Then car is ok for a while after this. Anyone know what this is? bad gas, turbo issue, fuel filter?
