Alright Guys! Very Very Very exciting NEWS! I have come into possession of a good amount of MazdaSpeed Side mounts and J-Pipe mid pipe catless downpipes from there stock for the old Speed World Challenge cars. These side mounts are like nothing on the Market right now the end tanks are made from billet aluminum and the intercooler cores are top notch. The J-pipe mid pipe combo is also top notch welds are amazing it looks like it is 2" not to sure I will double check when I post pictures. Also, I can sell the J Pipes with a high flow cat as an option that you can take to your local muffler shop to get welded up. I will have about thirty units of each coming in from Mazda NA and when they are gone there is no more. Pricing will be cheap way cheaper than any other side mount on the market and the J Pipe will be cheap as well.

Final Pricing on the SMIC is $445 shipped I only have access to 7 so they will go fast!

Final Pricing on the Down pipe is $250 shipped and I have access to 32

Lets get a list going and please put what part you want

I have one set of Tanabe Protege 5 Springs that I can sell for $144.00 plus shipping

For pictures see post 19 & 20

Another SMIC option that will be cheaper definetly interested. If it was good enough for the challenge cars it is good enough for me lol. Hurry up with price and pics i'm freaking out cause of this work is going to suck for the next 3.5 hours.
Any idea on how large the core is and wether or not the inlet and oulet are in stock location and stock size?

You had said the mid pipe is 2 in? hopefully its 2.5 or 3 in =D

Cause I am currently in the market for a complete downpipe + hi flow + exhaust

I was currently going to go with a custom downpipe, hi flow, and then EITHER the greddy sp2 OR evoII exhaust

but depending on how much this goes for (+ the hi cat as u said in post 1), I might just have a winner for the mid pipe

alright just checked the size and its 2 1/2" this would be a perfect match for the greddy exhaust because the greddy flange is designed to mate to the stock mid pipe

Sorry about that mix up I got confused with the intercoolers and the j pipes. Intercoolers were made by Mazdaspeed Usa and so were the mid pipes but the mid pipes were actually used pricing is up check it out!

The same SLS midpipe is $250 new from Protegegarage.com and so is the CustomMSP SMIC ($445)... I was expecting something like $150 shipped for the midpipe, so i'll back off the list unless the pricing goes down.

I'm working on getting the price down a little When I get vendor status i plan on doing some combo's possibly intercooler with a samco hose or intake and mid pipe with an exhaust or intercooler and clutch let me know what you guys would like to see up I will give great pricing

I believe those pieces used to be sold by Protosport. I know the downpipe is, because I used to have one. It's a very nice piece, lasted me for over 3 years until I upgraded to a new setup. It's actually 2.25" in diameter, fully stainless steel with a perfect fit.

Boosted03MSP
06-05-2008, 08:27 PM
I am doubtful that was made by Mazdaspeed USA, or was an older design. The original bidding to do the MSP turbo kit was between Begi and Calloway and neither of them made that SMIC. My brother has worked for mazda for years and neither of us have ever heard this. Are you %100 positive it was mazda? I even called Mazdaspeed 800 number and they had no idea of a past intercooler upgrade that was supposed to be sold at a dealership parts dept.

I would purchase one if i knew more info on where they came from. The custommsp smic is the same price and is a quality piece. Hard to spend the same amount and not know anything about this

Just got confirmation that it was going to be a factory option but the deal feel through they have been sitting since late 2002 they were not made by mazda but contracted out to another company which I'm not to sure of. The people you talked to probably have no idea because I'm sure people in that position come and go often. Any more info that i can find out i will for sure keep you updated I'm thinking about selling this as a combo with a samco hot pipe. I will keep you guys updated.

What mods do you have a fmic isn't really practical for our cars under 10 psi you loose a lot of throttle response and its throttle response that makes our cars so fun to drive!

In that case, post some dimensions and pics w/ forum signage. I'm interested. I know some people have fitment issues with the CustomMSP sidemount, so I'd like to know if there's any small difference in size with these.
