Right now I am just posting this asking if anyone has heared of this happening or had it happen to them, if it helps any I will probably post a video clip tomorrow if you can hear it.

The sound I am getting is coming from the rear of the engine. You can hear it really well under the car and from the passenger side wheelwell. The sound is hard to describe which is why I will hopfully post a video but it sounds a lot like a heatshield rattle, but I have checked them all and they were all right. The sound gets louder and becomes a faster rattle/grind as you rev the engine almost like the turbo is making the sound. The sound is loud but not loud enough to hear inside the car unless the windows are down. I am lke 90% sure its coming from somewhere in or around the turbo and 10% from the valvetrain.

The car runs perfect but the sound is pretty annoying and gets me worried. I will be taking it into service on monday because they are closed for the weekend but untill then any ideas?

sorry for the poor description and no video clip as of now.

Thanks

"When the engine is first started, some vehicles may exhibit a loud ticking noise from the variable valve timing
(VVT). This is caused by the lock pin of the variable valve timing actuator not fully engaging. Heat treatment has
now been added around the hole of the variable valve timing rotor lock pin to prevent this from happening."

Check out the Service Bulletin I posted

If you push in the clutch does the sound go away? Also do you have any modifications?

Rattle goes away when I push the clutch down.
No modifications.

Thats a noisy throwout bearing. We all get it from time to time, completely normal unless it gets really really loud.
