rear suspension squeak, LX

My 03 protege LX has an annoying "squeaky bed" sound coming from the rear suspension. At first I thought it could be the same klunk noise coming from the sway bar bushings that people with MSP's and MP3's complain about but since my car is an LX it doesn't have the same sway bar.

I went under my car and the noise doesn't seem to be coming from where the bushings are on the sway bar, but its hard to tell where it is coming from. I sprayed WD40 on the endlinks and sway bar bushings but that didn't help at all.

Does anyone have any idea where this noise could be coming from?

Edit: oh the car has 70,000 miles on original struts and springs which seem to be in good condition

i would check the actual strut rod on the strut it self. i have had previous occassions on other cars where it would become squeeky due to the lack of lubrication. i just sprayed some WD or PB blaster on the rod itself and then it went away.

also, check the springs and the rubber cups that sit on the top and bottoms of the springs. could be coming from that area too.
