I really would like to run 235 width tires on my MSP. I'm pretty sure 7.5" or 8" width wheels will work with 235. My question is what does the offset need to be then?
I've seen some people with 16x8 and thick tires. So I'm hoping this will work as well. Thanks

I'd love to get some fat tires on the MSP. Probably not worth the effort, expense, time, and money though.
Whatever size rim. I've not seen 16x8's myself. Good luck, sub'n to thread.

My 215's rub at full lock with 7.5 inch rims w/ a 48 offset, so....
I'd say there is a chance that a 17x8 with a 235/35 series tire would work.

Wow, that's weird. I have 215 on 18x7.5 and no rubbing. The 235/35 seems to be rarer and a shit ton more expensive...
On a side note, I curbed my rims for the first time ever...hurt my soul more than it did the wheels...after I heard the CRUNCH i was like FUCK!!!

So I finally took the time to do the math. Since there are ppl running the RX8 wheels with minimal rubbing (18x8 +50mm) and I run 18x7.5 +45 mm, I think this makes sense...

Only thing is that the outside of the wheel will stick out too far if the offset is +40. So +48 to +50 looks to be the only thing that will work...

yes 17x8 with a 235 will fit, @48mm offset. a 245/35 will fit also.
