I'm the proud owner of a product with a Money back Guarantee But Since I bought it from Street Unit with a credit card its and 80% money back guarantee ! or of course 100% in store credit . Do people generally pay other ways these days ? Is this the plan ?
Well this is an edit .
I got a call back from Street unit they are treating this as a special case the Cobb AP that is . Only a few people are trying to return them as of yet . They are working with Cobb to get the full refund there are a bunch of fee's that have to get eaten by the Vendor obviously that sucks for them .

i saw that on their site. it also says within 3 days blah blah blah, so I thought the AP return policy might override their standard return policy that applies to all thier stuff.
did you call them up and this is what they said about it?

i think thats cuase they have to pay the credit card company- or paypal a percentage even if you return it.. what did you return?

Its not returned yet . They called me back and told me they are treating this as a special case . Looks like they are backing up the guarantee . I get hot headed too quick I guess . Its just that its so much money and then you find out that your out 150$ it tends to make you a bit upset . I can Imagine how the vendors feel when you return a product .
So far there Customer service seems pretty good they did spend a lot of time with me one the phone .

If a refund is issued to the card (or paypal) the percentage that the financial company took is also refunded.

Hmm.. I just posted mine in the for sale forum. New in box. Because SU pulled that on me too!! Called them, they told me they wouldnot honor the full refund! They will get no more business from me. They told me to call cobb. Cobb told me to call SU.........

...as far as sympathy for fees go. I worked retail for a few years, their fees will get refunded. And even if they dont, its call the cost of doing business.

street unit is a less than savory company. Ever since the fiasco with the intake manifolds back in the day, they have lost a lot of street rep and credibility with the forums. Sure they carry a lot of parts for us, but that isnt the only thing consumers are concerned with.
I called them up a while back to get some pistons and they flat out told me that they did not want my business and told me to go bark up a tree. Needless to say I was shocked and appalled that a vendor would stoop so low.
I am glad they are banned from this forum, this place is a much beter place without them.

Easy tiger....They actually seem to do good business after that little fiasco..Even if they are banned here.
And to be honest..With the fight you got into with them..If I was them..I woudln't take your greenbacks either.
Nothing personal...I am just telling you how I see it.
If you wouldn't have told them who you were..they would have sold to you easily.
But whatev.

Thats awesome that they are banned from this forum, I don't personally like the way they have conducted business...
I am all about free shipping however, if i have to pay a little more for shipping at a vendor with much better customer service then I'm all for it

I knew what they did back then. That was low sheistery and unexcusable. A professional company does not pawn off items as their own custom item when that is a flat out LIE. Regardless of the mitigation they "accomplished" post-intake manifold incident, their reputation is tarnished with meas well as with many many other forum members.
Yeah, I dont blame them necessarily for turning my business down, but you should have heard the way they talked with me. It really was shocking. Cussing and everything at me. I was seriously shocked. They acted like pissy high school boys trying to get into a fight - and not like a stand up professional company. Furthermore, I did nothing but elucidate the truth. I could see if I was spreading nasty rumors that had absolutely no validity whatsoever, but there was accuracy to my posts. As vendors, they hold themselves out to be made critical of by consumers. That is the price of business.
As the addage goes, "If you cant stand the heat, get out of the fire."

If you ask me..your friggin not to bright for telling them who you were when trying to buy something...did you think you would get a better deal after starting that shitstorm?
I mean seriously..think about it.
And your STILL Bitching about them..but they suck so bad that you tried AGAIN to buy from them.....Where is the Smiley....oh yeah....here it is.

For those that are interested. We offer a 100% refund (less shipping and handling costs) on the AccessPORT. This is a 30-day guarantee that we offer, this is based on your original purchase date. We ask that our dealers do the same, but we cannot force them to. We will give them a 100% refund (less shipping and handling costs) when our dealer return it to us. I am sure Street Unit will take care of their customer appropriately.
Take care,
Christian.

not trying to start anything with that, more of just pointing out it happens everywhere, and to be honest i dont know about the SU fiasco. I havnt had any problems with SU i like useing them they are within 1-2 days shipping of me and 9-10 i can get a tracking info to see where my stuff is.

It's simple but no one wants to type it. They plugged it in and after a few days felt no power increase. Then maybe a few of them dyno'd it before and after and saw no big increase in the power band so they are returning it.
I know I waited to see the out come. I do know that this car is funny. Throw on a new mod (not that I have any mods) and you see these boost spikes to 20PSI+ but……..then after a day or two the boost spikes are gone …..Totally gone…..and so isn’t the bursting power after every shift. It all just smoothes itself out. The power increase is there but it smoothes out very nice.
I think there will be some nice MAPs down the road. I will sit here and wait to see what comes out maybe by next spring. Right now.......I will just drive my 65 miles per day and enjoy the car for the summer.

SO the long and short is...Minimal to no real gain in power with the Currently available maps.
Wow..they waited how long for this?

I am not too sure Cobb was 100% ready to release the AP but there were so many foaming at the mouths that it is here. All they have is base safe MAPs because the ECU is still a hard thing to control maybe. I have tuned with a Laptop for years (Fords) and I know on newer Ford ECMs you can't just modify one table, function or Scalar and call it a day. You have to dig and find out what modifiers, adders and multipliers go with the table, function or Scalar being changed. Some times you want more timing and you add it here and there but it doesn't take and the Data log will show it. Then, you need to find out why. It takes a long time and by the reading the Speed3 ECM takes 100 other things into account before making up its finicky mind as to what it will allow to happen.
Cobb will get a good grip on it. Then they will release the tuning software and hope the tuning shops understand all this stuff. I know it is out of my league!!

I'm wondering if weather had anything to do with it. I know it's been unseasonably cool here on the east coast the last 2 months, now the weather is swinging to hot and muggy. Turbo cars take it in the shorts when the weather is like this. I romped on my car last night coming home from work and was like... WTF! heh. The temp dropped to 20F at night and all was well again.

it cost me 700$ 1st and 2nd are still boost limited and dsc disable appears to not work especially while turning . And yes I do have the incompatible MS CAI . But that shouldn't have anything to do with those two problems .

because every fully bolted car using it with the stage 2 + map has felt less power. one user even posted track times that were consistantly 3-5 tenths slower and 3-4 mph slower trap speeds. it does work, just the maps need some tweeking i think. it is a good product but it will work differently on every car based on your mods i bet. i just wont buy it until some do it yourself tuning software is available.

^^^ I am getting results like that, but just to be fair it could be some sort of hardware problem on my car that only makes itself show when the ECU is requesting more boost and fuel. I should try and get the TSB fuel pump done, but the thing is I have no problems when running the stock style maps. I'm not sure of another way to test the fuel issue. I would love to borrow a dashhawk locally and monitor my fuel pressure, but no one seems to have one around here.

I'm poor right now, college student still looking for summer job lol. Also I'm not sure how much I'd use it other than this fuel pressure issue...most other parameters the AP will display just fine and i have it mounted in the car. Doesnt seem worth it to spend 250 or whatever just for this one time use really

The aeroforce scan gauge also works well. It's also 52mm so it can be installed in a pod vs. the dashhawk.

Dashhawk will datalog unlike the aeroforce and AP. The dashhawk is a real monitoring tool. The AP is a tuning tool with some monitering variables thrown in. I use my dashhawk as a gauge package as well.
