Got carried away this weekend..

So I decided for the weekend as a small project I was going to debadge my P5. Then after removing the emblems I realized that they have the dumb plastic pegs on them and the hatch has the corresponding holes.. I don’t like the look of those holes and also don’t like the look of the silver emblems. So I got some single stage paint to match my body color.. No sense in bringing home all my paint gear from work for such a small paint job.. Well after the badges were done and put back on I decided I didn’t like my tail lights. Lol.. I was going to put them in the oven and take them apart to see how I could change them. But they are plastic welded together unlike my headlights… so I whipped out my masking tape.. What do you guys think? Im going to wait a week then wet sand them and shoot them with clear.. The paint matches but the gloss isn’t quite there.. Single stage paint never is.. Looks really good, I think my blacked out tail lights look to bulgy because nothing to break up the colour, I may have to redo them similarly. BTW, your exhaust is a little loose.

funny thing is i put them back on this morning and tonight i found out one of my tail lights is burt out.. go figure..

DuRWooD yeah it looks crappy.. my car was hit in the rear before i bought it.. its got a new bumper and hangers that were welded back on.. but not even as you can see.. im going to fix it when i upgrade.. unless that takes to long for me to get around to doing...

I like the taillights, but, I think I wouldave left the circle over the brakelight a tad bit bigger. But, that's just my opinion. I'm still contemplating getting some alteza lights and reworking the insides into a full LED setup and then smoking em so you can't see the shiney

What are you using to cover up those holes and how are you painting it?

not if i fill the upper red circle.. the black on the lights is black paint that matches my car. i thought about just smoking them.. but i did that on my toyota and wanted to try something else.. ill get some night shots of it tonight.. id say im on the fence about if i like them or not.. i like them more at night.. id much rather some JDMs.. so if i get sick of these itll be an extra kick to buy them.. lol..

thats sounds like its going to be sweet.. an easy way to smoke lights i found is clearcoat with some gloss black mixed in.. that way you can control the darkness buy how much black added and how many coats.. but i for sure wanna see pics!!!

Kinda my thoughts too. Cool & all but magnet for some borderline quota meeting pull ya over for anything they can while ignoring actual crime coppas. Yes I know certain things with your lights can actually be unsafe & against the law so all you motor vehicle attorneys spare me please. +10 for originality tho.

yeah.. i know that too.. but actually all i have to do is make them reflective.. thats the only thing makeing them not legal.. well here in MI anyways.. i have everything else.. stop lights blinkers and there correct colors.. ive thought about it and i may fix that.. i have two ten pound bags of crushed glass from back in the day when they would make stop signs by hand.. im going to do a square on the side with some clear and glass mixed.. then clear over the whole thing..(cool)
