well almost complete ;) still need exhaust and body but still...the fun part is done

so the car is on its way back from protegegarage as i am typing this!!! here is the full list of what has happened to my p5

msp turbo
msp manifold
corksport s/j pipes

blitz full auto turbo timer

then they tuned the whole thing ;)

i will post pics tonight!!
also im getting a downpipe back 3" exhaust made with 2 vibrant resonators, 1 vibrant cat, and 1 vibrant turbo muffler, this will also be made by protege garage, hopefully sometime next week or the week after.

UPDATE! okay so no car...thats right no car haha

ken called and we were rushing for time cause i need a car, but he told me the car is obviously running but its boosting about 10psi and the afc needs to be tuned better/bov needs some work as it has some hesitation at times and it stalled once or maybe twice. Well we agreed that its best for him to keep it and finish it, meanwhile ill have to mooch rides of friends and family ;) So basically there gonna fix the bov and dial in and tune it afc perfectly and i get my 3" exhaust! So again not mad, actually happy! ill keep this thread as updates....

umm parts about 2000-2500 and labor/tunning about 1750 most of the labor cost is for the custom fmic "pg" is making, thats a big project so big money for just labor on that part. For an example im also getting a custom exhaust at "pg" i supplied 2resonators, 1 cat, and 1 muffler so just the parts for the exhaust were about 475, then labor....but would i do it again? In a heartbeat, AND i dont even have the car yet!!!

I am usually sitting on here watching for stuff....But no....the one time the item I need comes up for sale..I miss it...and the worst part is that the guy who bought it is who I was working for.

we rent a space when we need to do work. our main income was always internet sales, so there was no need to shell out thousands for a shop month to month when you were only working on so many cars at a time.

Hesitation issue resolved, exhaust done which he said sounded a lil' louder than my old corksport/header combo i had which is not good(previous noise complaint letter from neighbors(notcool)) but i can fix that by retarding my right foot in the mornings and evenings.

I leave to pick the car up right at 3:30pm tomorrow so wish me luck! pics, videos and my thoughts to come! Otherwise im not gonna be on in a while cause im gonna be too busy (drive2)!!!!

car actually sounds great. i was very happy with how it all turned out. the car runs rich and boosts 10psi, two things that will be addressed in the tuning process. mpnick advised not to full throttle the turbo for at least 500 miles, so once the car gets to that point more adjustments will be made.

Sorry, but if I blow that kind of cash and have someone else do the install, that thing better be perfect upon delivery. I can understand if you HAD to have your car back, but like I said, it seems like a huge hassle.

where did he say the car didn't run properly once we delivered it back to him? i kept the car an extra week to better perfect things. it can't be tuned yet because the turbo cannot be put under full throttle according to the person who built the turbo. you cannot tune an EMS unless you can full throttle and monitor it on the wideband. thats not something i can control.

i agree! Its like this....i need to tune my car, but that cannot be done for two reasons. 1) turbo is brand new, needs to break in before i can hammer on it. 2) no wideband installed, and the wideband cannot be installed because i dont have the guage pod for it yet. So its a multitude of things/ things that build upon each other.

On the other hand....i love the car and check out my other thread in the main p5 area, pics and info in that one. I kinda lost this thread, i think it was moved into this section?

OH BY THE WAY, exhaust is much quiter than my obx header/corksport exhaust on the n/a setup was. I LOVE MY EXHAUST! Its the best exhaust i have heard on a msp, ever! Thats right i said it! I have the best exhaust ;) Ill have to get some videos....hopefully tonight!
