Well, we got a 2000 Protege LX new in Feb 2000 for my wife. Since she drove it, I kept it mild, like 14" alloy rims, K&N panel filter, spoiler, clear corners. After serving as our dedicated family car for years, we had our 2nd child last December, and as good as the car is, just didn't have room for 2 car seats, large stroller, groceries, in laws, etc, so we got a Honda Odyssey. Now I am selling my 99 Sentra and taking possesion of the wife's Protege for commuting to work, and my CR-X for play. The Protege has only 45k miles on it and has only been in the shop one time in 8 years for repair (hail damage), with the exception for oil changes and maintenance in the winter (it gets cold). Current plans are for 15" winter tires/rims and 16-17" summer rims/tires, Mazdaspeed wing, blackened headlights/corners, brake upgrades, in car DVD sound system, seat covers, paint interior trim, frog lights, and other possibilities. I am in Maryland, and I am a chronic car guy.

I know it is late, but welcome to the club. Lots of stuff you could do to your Protege.....have fun modding.

when it comes time to replace your struts, tighten up the suspension with tokicos and RB springs, you'll have a blast and won't sacrifice ride quality :)

Thanks. I am collecting parts for the Protege and will probably install them early summer (June?). The Honda (99 Si) is my brother in-law's car. Poor thing, was a really nice car until he got his hands on it, now it's pretty trashed. What Tokicos, the blues, or I assume the Illuminas? I have the Illuminas on the CR-X and like them alot, plus they have a lifetime warranty.
