running an OBX header with a single-catted midpipe, and the heat shield on top of the cat has come loose on one side. rattles like a mofo when the car is on.

i wanna pry the rest of it off, but not if it will hurt anything.. input appreciated :D

isnt it bolted on? its probably just rusted, go under there and rip it off or you could always just go under there and super glue it back in place lol. It shouldnt hurt anything by taking it off, but dont take my word for it and just use your better judgement.

doesnt seem like there's anything above it, but i don't wanna take it off and have it, like, melt my shifter bushings or something lol

i believe it was tack welded on.. if it was bolted i don't think it would have come off this quickly. the midpipe is about a month old

Could try to use JB Weld first...might hold-up for a while...or an exhaust shop would probably do it for about 5 bucks...

sorry to bring back an old thread, but I have the exact same issue and I figured it would be stupid to start a new thread. I just took the heat shield off, has anyone tried running without the Cat heat shield? Any adverse effects?
