New Wheels..... Help Please!?!

I am going to be honest, as smart as I am, I don't know a thing about wheel sizes and offsets!! I found some wheels for sale locally, but won't post a link cause I want them for myself ;) but here's the info.

18x7.5 Flik Wasps
Gunmetal with polished lip
35mm offset
Falken 225/40

Few questions for the tire gurus:
1. Is going from 8.5 to 7.5 going to be a big deal?? Less surface area, worse handling, less power?
2. 35mm offset, will this work? What about the tire size.
3. WHAT DO I DO ABOUT TPS??

I just read that the bolt pattern is 5x112.... isn't ours 5x114? So I guess these aren't going to work? DAMN IT! ARG!

yeah we are 114. what wheels do you have on there that are 8.5? if its the stockers then they arent 8.5 they are 7.5. the offset is iffy i think but i think there are a few people running 35-40ish. as for the tpms you can just swap the sensors

Worst case scenario you might have to roll the rear fenders. My wheels are
18X7.5 +42 offset & tires 225/40/18 and they work fine with stock suspension. However, I would need to get my rear fenders rolled if I got even Cobb springs; there is very little room when you go over step bumps, etc.
If you really like them I say get them!

Thanks for clearing that bunch up. Confused about bolt pattern. I'm searching around google and stuff and pulling up 5x114, but wasps only come in 5x112. Will these work??

stock wheels are 7.0.

5x112 will not work.

if these are 5x112 then they wont work because most mazda bolt patterns are 5x114.3, and ur car is one of those mazdas

they are running the swampass accessport software with the lug/offset varying map.
