Anyone know where I can get a pedal kit that looks as close to this as possible. I gotta have the horizontal rubber grips. I was told by a supplier that this kit will not fit a 2008 3:

I found a set that will fit the Volvo S40, which isn't too bad. Anyone know if the 3 and the S40 have the same pedals?

I saw those. I am ordering a custom dead pedal off another forum because xenon's dead plate is not flanged and leaves far too much carpet exposed. The plate i was going to order was silver with horizontal stripes. I just switched my order to all black to blend in with the carpet, so I could get different pedals now. This might be the easier route, versus trying to find silver pedals with horizontal stripes.

How about these?

You don't need rubber in them, believe me. These things with their machined front are as grippy as hell!! The machining leaves an edge that holds your shoe to it in all conditions. They do not get slippery when wet. I've had mine installed for the last three years and they are as grippy now as they were then. Still look great too.

Yeah, those are alright. I wouldn't used the dead plate though. The one I am getting covers the entire carpeted part of the dead plate area including the edge nearest the clutch. I'd post a pic, but it's a diff forum and I am not sure i am allowed to.

It's going to be like this but without the Mazda3 logo. Just the horizontal non-slip bars.

Looks really good in the silver, but again, I couldn't find matching pedals.

You're buying that from sok07, right? He used to make them just like that, or w/the Axela logo instead.

Correct. Just didn't know how the forum rules worked and what not. I like this plate the best, as it covers pretty much the entire carpeted footrest area.

It looks very nice. Do you know if he is still making it?

Yes. You just have to get on the order list. I've been waiting a couple weeks now. Patience is a virtue.

How do you mount the dead pedal?

Simple sheet metal screws through the carpet into the foam insulation. You'd be surprised just how well they hold.

same place. Still waiting, patiently. My pedal is in progress right now, so won't be too long.

If I get a set I think I'll velcro it on. I hate drilling holes on new cars. I'm just a wimp...

You don't even have to drill holes. They are self-tapping and will pull themselves into the carpet and foam. Once removed the carpet will all but eliminate the evidence. Do a little creative design (i.e. brush the carpet w/a stiff brush) and you'll never know the difference.

Does the person still make and sell the dead pedal?

I received the dead pedal about a month ago. I believe he is still making it, but he is doing it part-time, so be prepared to wait for some time. However, it looks nice and I'm very happy with it.
