I was wondering if there were any other manual transmissions out there that would fit on the FS-DE

The FS-DE was used in the:

* 1993-2002 Mazda 626
* 1993-1997 Mazda MX-6
* 1999-2001 Mazda MPV (Japan)
* 1999-2003 Mazda Capella
* 2001-2003 Mazda Protegé
* 2003 Mazdaspeed Protegé
* 1993-1997 Ford Probe

Is there a way to use any of these transmissions?
What is the transmission code for the manual trannies in the #rd Gen Protege's?

I do believe the FS/FP bell housing pattern is unique to only the FS/FP so no.

This trans won't work on regular ES/LX/DX protege's just so everyone knows...it has a sensor that they don't have and so it won't work if you try to install it on a none MSP car.

Anyone know what the max hp/tq that a FS DE trans will hold? And if adding a Stage 2 clutch will make it last longer and more reliable with higher hp (250-275whp)

depends on how hard u push it... if youre boosting at 12psi and gunning it all the time it might not last as long... be moderate and that new clutch would help.... but people here have gone to 250whp+ with the stock tranny with upgraded clutches and flywheels

Well I am gonna run a 16G turbo not sure of the amount of boost yet. But I just wanted to know what I'd have to do to beef it up some, other than clutch and flywheel to make it last longer and withstand a beating every once in a while.

u'll see a lot more people blow their motors first before they blow their transmissions.... unless youre automatic, of course then the probability of blowing up ur tranny first gets higher...

it's all about balance
