i used to gamemaster Star Trek, Star Wars RPGs (the west end version not the wizkids crap) Mechwarrior (the FASA paper game, not the PC game) Star Fleet Battles and Battletech matches when I was in high school. I never did LARPing or had players dress up in costume, but I can still tell you all the rules, the dice roll results, skill sets, character archetypes, etc. I had painted pewter minatures and landscapes.

i don't play any more and sold all my sourcebooks and on ebay when i was in college. all of it was mint and out of print so i made a good buck off alot of it. i can't say i see myself getting back into it, too much time and not enough patience for it on my part. but it was fun.

Few of my coworkers and bosses are into LARP.
It's their hobby, so I don't make fun of them or anything.
(not to mention they're my bosses -_-;; )

Personally I prefer milsims (airsoft) since I get to shoot my friends,
and those pellets hurt quite a bit.
Not that I am some kind of a masochist ^_^;; pretending to reign down fake
lightning bolts never caught my interest.
I have my Final Fantasy games when I do feel like throwing down magic
at some monsters. *^_^*

P.S. - Interestingly they (larping coworkers) are all married. -_-;;
