Short version :
SEPT 2003 :
I bought a new 2003 Protege ES automatic.
I bought the extended warrenty the same day on the same bill of sale has the car.
I was told EVERY thing was covered for 160,000 km or 7 years.
I live near Montréal, Québec, Canada.(canada)
TODAY :
127,000 km, under 5 years.
The front driver wheel bearing has to be replaced. I am told that I have to pay for the alignment that has to be done after the bearing replacement. The fee in it self is not the problem. The etics of the situation is what I am questionning.
Question : Why pay for the alignment ?
If the broken part is warrenty covered, shouldnt the access and « collateral work » to replace that part also be covered ?
Mazda replaced free of charge the front passenger bearing a couple of years ago.
I am told that I should have been charged the alignment then too. And after I some what protesting(protest) todays the charge by asking that if a piston ring had to be replaced, would I have to pay for the labour to get to it… They now tell me the warrenty coverage has changed. I feel like I being fead horse manure.
I would like your input on this situation,
