Sudden decelleration

Hi. Mazda p5 wagon. Great car so far. Over 110K miles.
Well cared for. Just replaced plugs and checked her over...purring nicely.
Suddenly has made an odd noise and decellerated. The sped up again.
Any ideas? Drive train, transmission, something related to cruise control?
Other things?

you might want to replace the coils and such.

yeah deffinately sounds like an ignition problem.
