I had a mishap with my MS3 last week... (sad2)

On Thursday (4/10) I went to the tire place to get my new Kumho MXs put on my RX-8 wheels...when I got home it was late, but I had to switch my wheels to try to break-in my new tires before the track day on Sunday. I needed to get 500 miles on them...

Anyway, I unload the wheels/tires out of the trunk and jack up the rear...
I hear a squeeking/squeezing sound and look up (bang), I forgot to close the hatch!!!!
(pissed)(argh)(rant)

I pulled it down and just saw a yellow scuff from contacting the edge of the garage door...it came off just from rubbing it. :)

The next morning I turn the car on and let it warm up as I'm putting the trash out on the curb...on my way back to the garage I see...(shocked)(wow)(omg)(sad1)(bang)(sick) (blarf)

I literally got sick and my stomach burned...I almost cried...:'(

I put one of my racing magnet decals over the dent to cover it up for the weekend... I just couldn't see it...

You just don't understand... Every time I park, I walk around the car looking for dents or scuffs if anyone parks next to me before I pull out. I park as far away as possible and on end caps of the parking spaces to have as much room as possible. I am totally over protective of my car...

I was just sick to my stomach... (sick)

A friend referred me to a guy that does paint-less dent repair. I had no experience with this type of work...but I had heard about it. Didn't have too much hope though. I knew it was going to have some remains of the dent...

I met the guy yesterday (Monday) morning at a dealership and 45 mins and $170 later...

He turned back time!!!! The dent is completely gone... I could not believe it!! I felt the area with my hand to see if there were any bumps, ripples, dimples...nothing!!!!! WOW!!!

I am so happy... :) (cabpatch)(cool)(yippy)(2thumbs)(eekdance)

Yeah, some asswipe put a dimple in my front passenger door and PDR made it disappear. Well worth $60.

How does the process work?

They basically massage the metal back...

He stated tapping the metal on the sides of the dent towards the center and then from behind (through the back side of the hatch) he continued to massage the metal outward (popping it back out)...

Its amazing... I did not stand there and watch him...I tried, but hearing that hammer hitting my car just made me sick... I had to walk away...

guys that know how to do it are awesome. my car got caught in a hailstorm last year. $2500 worth of damage. one week later, you couldnt even tell. i had over 100 dents on the roof alone, some on body lines, did an amazing job.

what is amazing about the OP's PDR repair is that it's on a line...you are lucky because many times those don't come out that good when on a point like that. great work!

i swear by my PDR guy. he used to work for Dent Wizard, then a few years back went out on his own. he's on my speed dial for anything that might pop up (or in lol).

Her at our dealer, we had all but 7 cars heavily damaged by hail. We have over 250 cars on our lot. Damages average about 2500-3500 each.

You wanna deal on a new Mazda? Come to Oklahoma. We have deals on cars with the all new "Lunar surface exterior package" haha

PAINT LESS DENT REPAIR IS AWESOME! yes i'm yelling. My friend has a 91 (I think) mint dodge Dakota and he had like 11 small dings in it from over the years, So dents were as old as the truck and the dent guy got them all out without any paint damage!

I had this done on my STI, and as long as there's no crease in the paint, it works great. Believe me I DO UNDERSTAND. I suffer the same car disorder as you. HAHA I look for scuffs and dents on my S2000, and would freak if that happened to me. I got over it after having the Speed 6 for a couple of years, and I don't sweat it, but my S2K is officially my paranoia vehicle like your Speed 3 is. Glad you got through your painful ordeal, and great news that it didn't scratch or crease, otherwise you'd have to have it repaired. PHEW. :)

I just had a dent removed on my door (a$$holes still can't figure out how to get out of their cars w/o hitting mine). Anyway, the local PDR guy is awsome. (National Dent Repair - Waldorf, MD). Dude had the dent out in like 5 minutes. Well worth the $50, hell I would have paid more. They are truely artists.

(omg)I am sooooo sorry!!!! (sad2) I feel so bad for you...
Hopefully that can be taken out...or you might just have to opt to replace the whole hatch door...for a CF one...? (huh) (2thumbs)

Well my gf's neighbor said he would pop it out for me but it wouldnt be perfect. The only REAL damage is the tail light - the top right corner of the gate-side light has broken off from rubbing with the body-side light, but the waterproofing seal is still intact. It just makes an annoying squeaking noise the whole time I'm driving. I COULD buy a new liftgate for about $700 but it looks like no matter what I do, its going to cost me about $1300, whether I go thru Mazda or any body shop out in town. One place told me they would do it for $1K if I paid in cash - I cant even buy my McDonalds with cash right now, so no way.
