Well, I'm gonna get the windows tinted like I have on every other vehicle I've owned, but this time I'm a little torn about how I want to tint the windows. A little history about my previous cars and their tinting:

1992 Dodge Daytona - 5% rear windows & hatch, 50% front windows, no windshield stripe - zero tickets for tint

2003 Mazda Protege - 5% rear doors & windshield, 20% front doors & moonroof, 5% windshield stripe - 4 tickets for tint

I've got a MS6 Sport, so no moonroof, but I want to tint the front windows, even though its illegal in MI if covering the entire front window. I've thought about doing a similar setup that I had in my Pro (20% front, 5% rear) or even going with 20% all the way around. This is a much more mature looking car, and I really think that the lack of incoming light from the moonroof will make it really dark in there, so the 20% all around sounds more appealing for this. Also, I think the entirely even tint around the car will visually look nicer than the dark back, light front that the Pro had.

I'm open to suggestions, or if anyone has pictures of different tint setups %age wise, please post them. I've posted a poll, so vote or suggest another setup if you have an idea.

i didnt wanna vote cause i have the same color as you, and i too am debating on how dark to go.
i was torn between 20% in the fronts and 5% in the rear
or 30% in the front and 15% in the rear.

either way, i think itll look good. our cars are lighter paint-wise, plus the all black interior will make them look darker.

if u end up gettin urs before i get mine, def post some pics so i can see how it turned out!

One thing I won't do is put 5% on the front doors, simply because it will be a cop magnet. My buddy has a Milan with 5% all the way around and it just is too dark for my taste, plus he's been pulled over about a dozen times in a year. He's got the paper for it, so he gets out of it.

and by paper you mean...
like a medical paper stating he needs dark tint?

Yeah, something along the lines of it saying his eyes are photo phobic(?) and that bright light hurts them. He had an eye exam and now has an excuse to do it. I personally don't feel like having windows that look like black paint, so the lighter shade won't bother me at all.

i vote for something that won't draw too much attention and make it the same all the way around. first choice minus the windsheild strip.

Got it done, just need to post pics now. I did 20% all the way around, including the windshield strip. Very good for blocking glare and somewhat difficult to see into, but easy to see out of, especially at night. I can back up no problem and see where I'm going.

thinking about doing the same thing, but i dont want it to look uneven. at the same time, there are no lights and lots of backroads where i live, so i know i can't go 20%

You'd be really surprised with 20%, it's easier to see out than I thought. My friends house is in the boonies, I was there last night and had no problems being able to see out my back window when in reverse.

I just had 20% all around w/windshield stripe and I'm very happy with the result. Hope to get some pictures soon, but got a busy weekend planned, so who knows?

I have 15% all the way around and it's no problem seeing outside at night whatsoever. Only been pulled over one time for it. Said it came from the dealership like that new and he just went on his way... It was also snowing so he probably didn't want to bother with the tint checking machine.

or you can go 30% all the way around (this includes the full face windsheild tint) like my car.

I'm doing 35 on the fronts and 20 on the rears. That should be plenty dark. I'm going with Madico Onyx and I also live in MI.

I ended up getting 20 on the back 3 and 30 on the front 4. The 30 just looked a lot deeper than the 35, and the 20 on the back makes everything look darker. I was surprised that even at night it is quite easy to see out of, even not so hard on my non-lit backroads. MUCH easier than through my friend's 20.

Being a perfectionist, it kills me that the pictures I took don't look like the car does in person. In person, the tint all looks much darker and it looks even except for the back windshield. My pics make it look like 3 or 4 different tints. ARG!!(bang)

These pics (for your info) are with the sun coming in through the front windshield and right after I had some fun with nightshades (third brake and side markers) and washed her down quick. Enjoy!!

I had mine done with 35% all around with a 6 inch eyebrow, and with the black interior It looks a lot darker. It's legal at 40% on the front windows hear in Louisiana, and I haven't had any problems at all and I can see just fine out of all the windows. I also have the problem where my eyes are really sensitive to bright light and have to wear sunglasses constantly, but I only need them when driving into a rising/setting sun with this set-up.

I have 15% on the rear, 25% around and 50% the windshield(All covered). Perfect, combination. The film on my car is from LUMAR. Custom job on a local shop. I noticed that during the day I don't need sunglasses. During the night less glare from the lights. Heat levels are down. 100% UV-A UV-B protection. Plus is tint enough to see perfect outside but hard for the others to see you inside. The 50% in the front is very light tint but it works perfect with the rest.

I had mine tinted with an 18% mirrored tint all around. I had a 5% windshield strip put on the front. I really like how it looks with the color of my MS6. I wonder how difficult it would be to get something from the eye doc saying I needed dark tint? Unfortunately, the mirror doesn't show in the photo (you only see the dark blue of the sky).

What do you guys think?
