Who's got a murdered out engine bay?

I'm in the process of pulling things of to blast and to be coated a nice gloss black. Curious if there are any other murdered engine bays out there in the Protege world.

I try to keep my engine bay as clean and stunning as poosible but its not as easy as it sounds for me. Every once in awhile I get some chrome polish and some rags and try to tidey up but it seems to be to no avail.

And I am working on just that....Getting everything done in Gloss, matte and Flat black with a touch of red.

It should look good when my engine goes back in.

Yes, "Murdered Out" the easiest way to describe the look I am aiming for, and you all know it. Blacked out everything. Minus the valve cover which is already bronzed. I'm actually considering sending my extra valve cover off to my buddy who can zinc coat it. I don't know how that would look though....it would be the gold zinc.....thoughts on that? I actually silver coated the first one but it didn't look like I wanted once I pulled it out of the polisher. Another thought was to copper plate it which I can do, but I would need to buy the copper which isn't cheap. We already have silver at the shop. I dunno. I'll figure something out.

I always thought the term Murdered Out has to do with a lot of flat/satin black and red accents.

murdered out simply means that almost everything is "blacked out" wheels-any accesories and of course the car. "Murdering" is actually meant to define a flat black appearence to the entire car; kinda like the traiblazer on the show "rob & big".(i had to share my knowledge-thats about all of it-lol)

I'm doing basically what has been described minus the body paint since I'm already black. I'll change that once the condition of the paint gets bad enough lol. I'm doing things simple and what I feel is classic. Everybody has their own definition of the term, however the main idea is the same, mostly black :)

Mine's on the way to be "murdered out", although I will never use that term to describe it, lol.

I have a crinkle red VC, black intake, black IC pipes, etc, etc, etc...

BTW - more Suby, it belongs to a guy on a local forum...pretty nice car.

I am sorry..I come from the "Ghetto"...Literally...and grew up in the City..Poor as hell...Public schools...and Trouble rampant around me....and even that term is a bit ghetto for me.

It just sounds tacky no matter how you say it..."g".

I wasn't aware that the term meant I was somehow ghetto. Thanks for the "stereotype." I'm sure Dayton Ohio has some very nice ghetto's.
