Well EBAY/Craig's List will be the cheapest place but, You and I both know how scary/nerve racking it is when you drop $350 on an item, waiting for it to arrive, all while hoping you didn't get screwed over. The only other place to buy one would be direct from the V1 website but you will pay about $405 shipped IIRC. Well worth the price of admission though, Good Luck!!!

Don't cut corners here and then be SOL if you have an issue with it and they refuse to fix it under warranty. Spend the extra 50 bucks or whatever it is. It will be worth it.

Call Valentine Research at 1 800 331 3030 and ask for a returned V1 and you will get 10% off the retail price of $399. Tell them you don't mind being put on the waiting list. Guaranteed, they will ship a V1 out within 2 days. It will be the latest version V1.8 POP2 w/ Euro-mode and 3.864 firmware and that comes with all the accessories and a 1 year warranty.

Probably depends on the conditions. Keep in mind that 2x the speed limit in some states == go to jail.

v1 didnt alert me when i got my 85 in a 65 ok ok it did about the same time he turned his lights on Pennsylvania uses instant on radar and dectors dont do anything

You can still pick these guys up if they are turning it on/off for others. But if you are alone, nothing is gonna save you...

instant on is still throws those waves all over the road when they hit the people in front of you. having a radar detector is an added layer of protection...NOT a get out of jail free card. if you speed by yourself, you're gonna get busted...=/
