Hay my buddy was telling me about seafoam stuff you can buy, he was telling me that you can run it in your gas tank to clean the fuel system and in your engine to clean up oil gunk and other stuff thats in there. Just wondering if this stuff is safe for our cars and if anyone has ever used this stuff.

Thanks

I have it in my gas tank now ( 1 oz per gallon) so it is 14 oz of seafoam, the car seems to run smoother, it is very safe as long as you do not use the brake booster line. if you put it through the pcv and/or the oil you must change your oil afterwards, seafoam breaks down oil and putting it through pcv busts up a shit ton of carbon. I am doing seafoam in the pcv and oil in a week or two. i will let you know but i talked to a tech at seafoam and they told me it is purely petroleum based product and contains nothing that can harm your car. he told me if you are not familiar with the turbo then only run in the gas and the oil. i have heard from multiple people on the forums that pcv is only way to go for the msp and to not do the brake booster line. to do this correctly i would suggest two cans because the gas alone uses up most of one can.

instructions on how to use the pcv

k thx for the info, so you just suck up through the PCV like you would as it was the booster line.

make sure you have a second person there to give it gas because the car tries to die faster when using the pcv as opposed to the brake booster, also it is always a good idea to allow for good ventilation... i have seafoamed my sisters car before, you will understand.

theres no need to change the oil if you're only putting it into the PCV.... thats a vaccuum line and doesnt get any of the seafoam into the oil....

changing the oil is only required if you put it in your oil...

lol also, if you have nosey neighbors, prewarn them....because its going to look like your house is on fire w/ all the smoke lol

and then you'll have a neat-o james bondish smokescreen from behind your car when you start her back up and drive it to clear it all out lol
