I am looking into buying a hot pipe from cross over auto but i had a few questions first. The pipe is made of reinforced silicone and I was wondering if this was better than steel or other types of medals. another question is it has a small nipple that comes out that is for the bypass valve circultion. my car currently does not have this... can i just leave it open or close it off? i am unfamiliar with this so any help is appreciated.

the aircraft quality aluminum pieces have always been better than the silicone ones, IMHO. aluminum is better for disipating heat and the aluminum has zero chance of flexing or bulging and thus changing pipe diameter.
the nipple is for the BPV to recirculate into the intake, you would need to block this off if you no longer use the stock setup or you'd have a MAJOR boost leak.
how does your car run with just the type s? stalling? MAF relocated?

the car idles wierd when it is hot outside but it never stalls. it just bounces around. I think that this problem was a loose ground wire though but i have to wait for another hot day to check. the MAF is relocated yes. how would i block it off? just a rubber cap like i have on my intake?

you'll need to cap it off with some kind of plug or cap or something but you should also put some type of clamp over the cap. since it's on the pressure side of the turbo, it could very easily blow off if not secured.

very true. I've popped off the entire hot pipe from the turbo b4 so i could imagine that a small cap would do the same...

I guess i could always run a BPV. Is that a hard thing for a rookie to do? sounds like just hooking up the tubes... does anyone have a picture of a BPV and a BOV running together?

i think it is best to run the dual setup. do u have pics of your current setup?

this is the only pic i could find. please note that this is what the previous owner had done to the bay. I took out all the flashy blue stuff. but the pipes are all current still.. i can try and get a better pic up later

hmmm, that painted engine cover doesn't look all that bad. your hot-pipe, however, look slike garbage (no offense). if you want to install a BPV, i would leave the BOV the way it is and intall a BPV between your intake and hot pipe. also, i would do away with that breather filter..... i've never liked those, the crankcase vent tube is there for a reason, when you put a filter on it your head gets all filled full of gunk and junk.

i know the hot pipe is garbage thats why im investing in another one lol.

so basically i can put a BPV on the new hot pipe i get and then hook a tube up from where the breather filter is to the intake. then my car should run like a champ right?

Please further explain the breather filter issue. I was just looking for pics of this to ask if it's a good or bad mod to do?? Didn't mean to thread jack!!

since my MAF is located on my air intake right now do you think it will help my "almost" stalling problem if i relocate it between the BOV and throttle body?

also someone should post a how to on installing a BPV with hard pipes.. :)
