I've tried a few different shops now plus one dealership and no one can figure out my problem. Hopefully someone here has an idea for me! For the past almost 3 years I have had to replace my rear tires about every 8-10 months since they are bald by then. The wear is completely even across the back tires and I have had the wheels aligned regularly and everything comes up in the green, but the wear is still happening. It seemed to start after I backed into a pole (oops) and that dented my rear passenger side wheel well, but every mechanic I talk to says it is impossible for this to be causing the problem. Coincidence maybe? I read something on an Acura forum about suspension causing a similar problem almost like it is pushing down on the back tires, but again the mechanics say this doesn't appear to be happening. Any ideas? Anyone had this problem?

depends what you have done, how you drive, etc. many things come into play with tires.

are you rotating your tires? is it always the back ones that go bald? what are the treadwear, traction, and temperature ratings? (found on the tire sidewall).

You have a toe (in or out) problem that should be showing up on the alignment. You likely bent one of the suspension links.

I know from checking the alignment three times in the past two years and having it come up in the green every time that it can't be alignment. I also know it can't be something minor like how I drive since I am only putting about 7,000-8,000 kms on these tires before they are so bald it is ridiculous. I don't think driving a bit agressively could be doing that and no, I'm not doing anything crazy other than regular in town driving. Maybe the bent suspension link is a good idea, but could that cause both tires to be wearing the same as each other? I really appreciate all the input from you guys!

Oh and would the bent suspension link throw out the alignment cause I already know it isn't out of alignment. And I haven't even had the chance to rotate the tires before they are bald! My fronts last forever and from what I know they should be the ones wearing faster than the back. It is so odd and so frustrating! Not easy to sell the car with this problem either!!!

well if ur sure the REAR is in LINE, even if someting is bent, I would think it shudnt wear so fast.

Yeah I know. It is such an impossible problem! And it isn't a tire brand or type either cause I have replaced the tires three times with a different tire every time and it all wears the same. The only thing I have got as a theory is that it has to do with suspension somehow pushing down on the tires causing drag, but that is a total guess and I don't even know if that is possible. Arrrghh! I have a feeling I will never get this solved. My poor car.
