So i have the opportunity to get an injen CAI for $50 plus the stock intake
i currently have the ebay BOMZ SRI on my car
will i feel any difference going from a SRI to a CAI?
and what are the circumstances that cause hydrolock? It rains a lot where i live and i like driving through the puddles in the road and never have any problems w/ the SRI. How much of a puddle does it have to be to cause any problems?
and would going from the ebay intake to a brand name one make any difference at all?

Really with intakes you are only paying for the filter and C.A.R.B. legalness in the brand names. In Hawaii a CAI would be fine as long as you keep your car off of flooded roads or switch it into a SRI.

i have a simota filter w/ a fake cf heatshield on it which i assume is a decent filter being that i bought it from protophile
i was mostly wondering if there was anything ever proven about a CAI being better then a SRI?
btw how hard is it to install a CAI? do you just take off that plastic piece behind the front drivers tire and stick the filter on?

I say do it. If you have a SRI, and then a CAI, you can always just switch back to the SRI during the wet season.

how hard is the install? do u take off that plastic piece in the wheel well to put the filter on?
a problem i had in installing the SRI was turning the screw on the clamp holding the intake to the engine, is there any good way to do that?

umm yeah..the way I tightened the filter down is like this. First install the first piece that goes from the throttle body to the MAF. Now the second part that goes down into the fender, take off the 3 clips that guard that area on the wheelwell, have somebody hold the filter onwhile you angle the screw towards the hole..now tighten it down through the hole and once its secure then you can connect the two pieces and secure the intake to the frame of the car with a vibra mount.
