Hey folks,

I just installed a Auto Meter Sport Compact boost gauge. It seems to work fine. Here is what I get:

- 6 to 6.5 psi at full throttle - Normal
- 23 mmHg at idle (seems a little high, I've seen 20-21 on other threads)
- 25-26 mmHg when I get off the throttle.

Now, there's some needle hesitation around 18-20mmHg when I cruise in 2nd at low speeds or rev the car at 3000 RPM on neutral. Is this normal?

Keep spooling!

Did some more research on the topic, vaccum at idle is within spec. The boost gauge needle hesitation happens when the car has been driven for some time, under partial throttle conditions. Needle "shakes" while in between 10 and 20 mmHg. Car runs fine though....any thoughts?

As long as the needle is steady while in boost and the vacuum remains in the established normal range for MSP's at idle, I wouldn't worry about what you describe as hesitation. Maybe its just the way you use your right foot?

I haven't developed a right leg twitch.....not yet....so no human factor. Car runs well and the needle hesitation happens under light throttle, so I am not too worried. But I wanted to see if this is something other MSP owners are seeing. I checked the installation and it looks fine. Btw, car is stock, only adder is a drop in K&N filter

That's what I meant. Light throttle application; meaning press your foot a little harder.

Needle reads 6.5 psi 90% of the time :)....I wonder if it a transient state between engine sucking air and turbo pushing air......
