View Full Version : Synchronic BOV
So does anyone have any real world experience to back up this video?

Why WOULDN'T someone install one of these for a 28hp increase?

Its not really an increase in "power". Its simply fixing a boost leak and regaining the power you lost thanks to the leaky stock BPV.

I picks up really good power. Holds about 3psi more at 6k. Thats where the power comes from. Read my thread. It works sick. Hit up ken at pg, thats where I got mine.
Any idea what these will sell for? Also, how easy/difficult was the installation, for someone that doesn't have a lot of mechanical prowess. A video demonstrating the installation would be great if anyone has one.

it is very simple. pretty much 2 screws for the engine cover, 2 screws to get the stock BPV off and remove the 2 hoses going to it. from protegegarage, it think its about $200.
mazpro.....have you also installed one of these? If so have you experienced the same increases......worth the $200?

This video is bs I asked the guy for the boost charts and they show 2-3psi less boost with the BOV. The 28hp is from the octane booster. The car is still advancing time between the two dyno runs. Not saying the BOV is bad but this claim is complete bullshit.

I dont agree. I will prove it. Ill do a before and after pull the next time I go to the dyno.
The octane booster will not do shit!!!

I don't know how you can say it doesnt do shit when the second dyno showed it gained 27 whp between the first and second run. Have you seen the before and after boost charts the car lost 2psi of boost with new bov. Looking forward to seeing your dyno. I like this bov but think a 28 hp gain is bs.

Call Ken at pg he will set you up.
Ps. there is no way you loose boost with the valve. Mine gained 2psi.

I just watched the video. Whats so hard to believe. The dumbass owner probably put 87 octane it and the octane booster put it back to around 91. I bet money my car will dyno over 290whp now going from forge to synapse. With the forge on stock boost 280whp is what I saw. The most boost I seen with the forge was 15-16psi in 4th gear on the dyno. Now Im getting 18psi when I punch it at 3k in 4th gear. Shit I might even hit 300whp now on stock boost. Fack it Im going to the dyno tomorrow. Peace. I need to crush the hype and prove it works.

Went in the mail today, they made sure it went is as a gift. I'll shoot you the tracking number here in a minute.
Looking forward to seeing your results 311! I'd like to believe the vid......seems like an easy & inexpensive solution for high gains.

+1. I think my bov is leaking and if your dyno shows what you say it will I will have to consider the synapse. Does it sound stock when in recirc? I don't want a loud bov

update, review. Have you guys installed it yet. Any dynos out there?
I haven't purchased yet......but I will if we see more definitive performance results......anyone else have one of these installed?

The stock valve turns out to be questionable. Is there a price break for a dedicated responsible forum member?

You also get to post in really old threads (headshake
I run this bpv since 2 years, i really like it. its fng big and not that easy to install right but definately worth it for 2 main reason: it dosent leak after 13psi and it dosen't have the obnoxious sound of a bpv like the forge one.
The video is not real life... this car probably had a badly leaking bpv and ran 87 instead of 91... 28hp from a bpv its just not reallistic.

I was leaning toward the Forge v2. If the original forge design really did leak past 14 psi, anyone know if the new one does?
