Trip Computer - available for Australia, what about the US?

I'd love to get a trip computer for the CX-9 and it seems like the Australian CX-9's get a trip computer that calculates fuel consumption on the dash display. I wonder if there's a way to have Mazda configure the US versions so that it gives us MPG as well? Maybe it is a display setting that is by default blocked, but can be unlocked through dealers? Just wondering...
