Wix Filter

On BOBISTHEOILGUY NG there is a thread about WIX oil filters being "crushed" during use. The thread is titled something like "The crushed oil filter in my Mazda 2.3L engine." Is anyone using the Wix/Napa gold oil filter cartridge? What does the filter look like after using? Need to know as I am about ready to install on in a few weeks. The WIX in my hand looks to be a very well constructed cartridge but, if it does not fit or seal correctly, I won't use it. Ed Hayes

You've seen the pictures I took of the Wix filter I used. No problems whatsoever on the "un-supported" unit. I'm doing a change in a few days....I'll use another Wix.

Maybe it's not the filters.....instead it might be that some caps are out of spec.

Hi Rick: I also wonder if the installation was done correctly as this is the only instance where a WIX has twisted. I await your oil change information. Ed
