Anyone have a Borla exhaust installed on their MS3? Bolra is always a popular brand of exhaust but I don't see any threads about it on this board. Any exhaust system that has a lifetime warranty is always popular - Borla stuff usually has a nice fit too. If someone can post pics/ sound that would be awesome or if someone is interested in doing a post with some pictures and sounds I would love to pass along a deal.

I had a borla exhaust on my 04 WRX for over 3 years-- great system and never had any issues with it!
Free bump!

I have also been looking into the Borla system. Since my car is used for a daily driver, would it not be a good idea to go with a new exhaust.
I really want to improve the sound of my setup, but also keep it street legal. Do these after market CBE's make our cars street illegal?

CorkSport Mazda 3 Stainless Steel Cat-back Exhaust System
The 'Power Series' Exhaust System is constructed of 61mm (2.4") mandrel bent T304 polished stainless steel. Fits 2003-2008 models. This is more than a cat-back system, due to the cat location it is longer than most systems. It does eliminate the second cat but does not cause a check engine light to occur. The Power Series system also weighs less than the stock system. The 86mm tip looks aggressive, yet not over the top and comes resonated. Fits both 5door and 4door Mazda 3. Removing OEM catalysts is not legal and thus this system is sold for race use. Built in resonator creating a quality, not buzzy sound.

Its illegal because it is MORE than a cat-back... calling it a cat-back is a misnomer... the only thing that would make a true cat-back illegal is if violates any noise ordinance in your neck of the woods....
I did NOT see a CBE for MS3 in the Borla site but it was a while ago... your best bet is to check out their site and see if they have it...

Also, search youtube for "Borla Mazda" and you should get a MS6 clip that has it. It sounds mean.

Thats for the Mazda3. On the Speed3, the two catalysts are on the downpipe and midpipe. Therefore, the catback does not remove either.
I had a Borla on my BMW. Pricy, but sounded amazing. If they had had a Borla unit on the market when I bought my Corksport, I would have been seriously torn.

Just be aware its 2.75" not a 3" setup. I wonder why they went with that like Mazda did with the mazdaspeed exhaust.
All the local shops around here carry the Borla for 630.. not cheap...

We see it in inches but..the next step up from the stock exhaust is 70mm which is 2.75".
Stock is 65mm then theres 70mm,75mm and cork sports 80mm.
65mm=2.56"
70mm=2.76"
75mm=2.95"
80mm=3.15"
