Hey peeps...

A friend of mine told me that Type-R lips for 94-95 civics would fit my car, is that true? Has anybody heard of any lips for other brand that fit ours?

I drive a 1999 Protege..

Well, the thing is he couldnt find a lip for his car either, so he adapted a type-R lip but for the 99-00 civic, and then he came across that other lip and measured it or sumthin and it was more or less the same length as the one he adapted, but idk, im just askin cause i found it weird myself...

well just because the length is the same doesnt mean itll contour to the bumper of your car...

people have done things like that before. it would be a bitch making it fit, but if you know what you are doing, you could do it.

this thread shows an integra lip on a sport20 front bmper, which is slightly different from the regular 99-00 front bumper. the lower profile of the sport20 front bumper is closer to the 2001+ front bumper. the mazda lip that fits the 01+ bumper fits right up tot he sport20 front bumper.

now, that being said, if the integra lip fits like it does in this thread, it would take some finagling to get the integra lip to fit the stock 99-00 front bumper. i say that based on how the 01+ front lip fits the stock 99-00 front bumper.

my opinion, go for it.

that is down right disrespectful!!!!! How dare your guys start slappin' cheap ass Honda products on mazda's?! I have a 91 Integra and I had a 96 Integra and I dont think that the cars even compare. I like the power that my Honda's produced but my Protege is one of the most fun four cylinders that I've ever driven for all around performance. Plus now that I've mod-ed my 01 ES I smack Honda trash all day. Matter of fact last weekend I matched up against an Acura CL, a '03 Nissan Sentra SE-R and a '96 body Accord. I Absolutely bashed them. Long story, short, Please dont disrespect your flyin' M people!!!

as for appearance i think that slapping honda stuff on a protege is fine, just make it look good. customizing is all up to whoever has the time. anyways, with the 99-00 bumper not having any "mazda front air dams" available, i can understand why people would go to such lengths in customizing a dam lip from hondas and etc for their car. i know that the 01 mazda front air dam fits the 99-00 bumper but it still takes a little customizing to get it to fit. All i got to say is what ever you try, just make it look nice. most people think that the lip on my car is actually made for it. even at mazda meets, people don't know that it is a lip from a 94-97 integra. i say, if anyone want to try something new, go for it. it'd either be crappy or hecka tight that other 99-00 pro owners will copy.

hmm, sounds similar to what some guys went through to get the 2001+ protege lip to fit the 99-00 bumper too.

i know that if i had not mounted the mazda protege lip kit, i would have gone with the "mugen" style honda lip, and MADE it fit.

any more pics of the lip and your car?

Cool you hang with integras. There was another guy with the white protege that had also used an accors lip of a diff. style, and he had it molded.

i hope there's an available lip before i decide to swap to a msp conversion or what not!

there is a lip for the 01+ models. gotta find one though
