Speedo Dash Light On/Off

The Speedometer Light has been going out for a few weeks. I smack the top of the dash and it goes back on. Should I look inside for something specific? Any ideas?(dunno)

PS: All the other dash lights are fine (and its only the left half of the speedo).

Anybody been inside the bezel, is there light bulbs that are replaceable?

there are specific bulbs at the back of the dash that you can replace. I think there are 2 main ones that light up the speedometer and I believe they are the 194 bulbs

Havent had experience in the mazdas, but this happened in one of my old cars. Take the dash out and you will more than likely find a bulb that is bad or almost falling out. Mine was loose in the socket and once I twisted it back in, it worked perfectly. It was like the old christmas lights where one goes out, they all go out.Taking the gauges out isnt too difficult. Again, I havent done it on the mazdas, but numerous other cars.

its not difficult, its just a couple of screws. Its a pain to unplug those harnesses at the back of the dash though. When I took my out, my bulbs were just loose, so I just shoved it back into the socket, and it worked fine.

those bulbs tend to last a long time, so most likely its just come loose.
