oil pressure

i installed an oil pressure gauge and the gauge reads 20psi at idle when cold and about 7psi when at tempure is this normal for a a protege that has almost 100,000 mi on it?

No.

Mine reads something like 75 psi when cold and 20ish psi when at operating temp.

Re-check your wiring. make sure you don't have the sensor wire on wrong or the +/- wires to the gauge backwards.
