So I traded in my DS lite today and got a PSP. It didn't really cost me anything since I had a bunch of old games that I never played, and the trade-in was more than $250. Sure, DS had some fun games, but I was becoming more interested in the games geared towards adults. Plus being able to get high capacity memory stick Duo (4~8GB) for cheap meant getting a decent quality media player at the same time with lots of mod options (emulators ^_^v ).
My friend recommended getting Patapon, so that's the first game I'm playing for now. I'm stuck at the desert level where you have to bring down the rain make it across. I mustn't be good at button pressing because I honestly think the hard mode drumming in Rock Band is easier (on my 360). Does anyone else have a PSP and what have you played/ done with it? I find it really neat that I can surf the web sites in different languages (Japanese, Korean, etc.)

I vote big mistake. I like my PSP alright, but only because I have my DS Lite to play some really good games on. I haven't touched my poor PSP since before the new year.

Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee is pretty fun. Apparently a new one is coming out soon too. I enjoyed Medal of Honor Heros a fair bit, but the game seemed pretty short

Mine is modded too. Great for being out here in the desert. Love playing games from my memory card, battery seems to last longer. Usually I play Godfather, GTA liberty city, and Tiger Woods '08.

DS Lite was cool, but I don't think my PSP purchase was a mistake.
I can watch videos, play music, surf the web when I need to, and... it plays games! *^_^*
As others mentioned, being able to play games from the memory stick is also a plus although mine is not modded yet. I just have a bunch of One Piece (anime) episodes that I watch to kill time.
Hot Shots Golf is one of my favorite games as well!
Any RPG recommendations for the PSP?
