Sway Bar fitment

I just bought a replacement rear sway bar link kit from Autozone and it does not fit. The part number is SL584. It seemed like kind of a stretch between the strut and the sway bar so I compared it to the other side which is OEM and the new one seems to be an inch longer.

According to Autozone's site this is the only kit for all proteges of this generation. Do I have the wrong part or is something goofy on my car? If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be great.

Not much to take a picture of. The new sway bar is simply an inch longer then the one that's on my car. When I try to put it on the sway bar won't reach the link.

Sems like thats the one for the 2gen protege. I compared my msp stock link to the 2 gen and its an inch longer on the 2 gen.
