Hey guys... alot of you have been wondering how things are going on the car so heres the thread to catch everyone up. Most of my posting is on the new forum but to all my friends over here and for props to PG for some awesome parts, deals, and 6 months of advice to a noob...lol... Im gonna update here as well.
My car is going from "heavily modded"... to "much more heavily modded" Im in the process of a gt3071r, PG manifold, atp inlet, cpe standback V2 install/upgrade. The car will be done imminently but Im heading out of town for a week and figured Id post some pics for everyone to chew on.... until I get dynos and impressions up.
Thanks to Derek88, and enganear for the pics. We all met at my shop today and had a great time over the car. Hope you all enjoy.

Whats the hose Crimped off for?
I am just curious because we do that when tuning my bike on the dyno so the Emisions Stuff cant alter the A/F mix.
Just curious what you have going on there with your hose.

I think its a line to the turbo... maybe coolant/ oil or something. I dont do my installs. Professionals do all my work...lol I just hang out there mostly.
Im excited about the cpe v2... its got variable boost control and secondary fueling capability. Im all ready planning a second fuel rail/ injectors if needed.... well... it will need it:) Theres a guy running 450hp in FL with a custom work done on the fuel system.... its the route I'll have to go as well I suppose. This setup Im hoping for 350-380whp..... we'll see.

Ahh, that's exactly what I'm looking into doing once Cobb gets their shit together and launches the AP. Are you running the stock bottom end for this build? Because I'm looking to do the exact same set up, but with Arias pistons and Pauter rods to cover my ass when I increase the boost.
Also, do you think our stock springs and retainers can cover 400whp? It seems like we don't have a single option when it comes to headwork on the DISI engines, and if we do, please fill me in!

Yeah..your right..Its probably a coolant line if you are/were swapping turbos.
Saves from draining the systems and losing The Antifreeze.
Just saves money and time all around.

yes sir they are both coolant lines. I drank lots of coolant, it doesn't taste good, when I disconnected the lines from under the car. I decided to start fresh with oil and coolant on the install, why not?
Anywho, Randy's car is going to be a beast, I can't wait to see the numbers too. It'll help me make decisions on my car as well. I won't steal his thunder though.
Congrats on the progress Randy! While you're out of town me and Mark may be chatting on the phone a bit :D I can't wait to see numbers, and TUNED numbers, for all of the upgrades!

I'll put props to my tuner. He tunes all Darrell Coxs srts... the fastest neons and caliber in the country. They'll be doing the fuel when it comes time. His website if you want a monster..

His name is Mark Riley. He is a prick if you waste his time...lol But by the time were done he might be worth the investment for the bigtime builds... weve done 70-80 dynos already. He is really getting to know the car.

not a bad route there... although blowing the motor could result in a busted up head which equals more $$$$. I have to replace the entire long block for my car. oh well. Definitely new clutch going in at the time.

I guarantee if not very soon, then soon. It'll take just one wrong down shift and here comes new forged internals! For what it's worth, I hope the motor stays strong. The SR20DETs bottom end are similar to ours and I've seen 350-400whp daily driven on GT28s, 18-21psi.
I just hope someone decides to make cams for our car and I'll be very happy. Doubtful, but one can wish.

Crower is who you want making your cams. Either they can do a regrind to the factory cams you send OR they can start with billet blanks. You just have to do your research and get the spec's sorted. It will happen guys, just give it some time. Everyone is working hard to get out of the batting slump with this car. We all have alot of money tied up in different areas to promote it's success, believe me.

LOL Basically :D... Samething in any car though. A bigger turbo with no bottom end WILL eventually blow the motor if giving too much boost or a spike. We already said that the Piston pins are weak on our car at 330whp.

we all are curious. But he supposedly exists. Hes running a part or two from ptp and has been discussed more at length on the new forum where they are a sponsor. Apparently its a rich dude with all custom work. He wired in a second fuel rail and a whole separate fuel system.
Its my understanding that these numbers were achieved on the stock motor. John at ptp actually claims to have spoken with and seen TWO cars with over 450 hp.... the second one I dont know as much about.
All his word... I havent confirmed it anywhere else.

I posted in the ATP thread before i saw this one, but somehow i knew Mark was the person that tuned your car. Hes the only person i know that goes apeshit while tuning a car. I hope you have good luck with him...i know ill never take my car back to him for tuning. He tuned my turbo crx and it blew up 3 weeks later on its first pass at Piedmont. I took the map to Howard at RLZ and he said that the tune was pretty much trash. My a/f ratios were all over the place(varied by almost 3 points in a 1.5krpm range), and i had WAY too much timing in the top end. And thats not the only bad part. During the tune he got pissed and slammed his clip board on top of my car, which left a little dent and some scratches. The car was a piece so i didnt mind it too much, but the fact that he did it in the first place sorta pissed me off.
I hope you have better luck with him than i(and many other guys in the area) did. Basically everyone around here takes their cars to RLZ or P1 to get tuned now. Its a decent drive, but the quality of the tune and customer service are second to none...especially with Jack at P1.
Im not trying to knock your tune or anything, just giving you a heads up with the bad experiences ive had with Mark. Like i said, i really hope you have a better experience with him that i did because i want to see that beast on the streets and running strong.
BTW-Do you know DC personally? If so then tell him Sean from HP says whats up. I used to go up there and chill with them all the time at the old shop, but ive only been to the newer one a few times. Booger and Mike C both owe me money so i need to get my lazy ass up there lol.

You should build the motor around the turbo! (dance). If that turbo is efficient at 25+ PSI, better keep it that way and get an eagle rotating assembly to boot.
Throw in a cam, some head work, intake (don't think one is even on the market yet), turbo manifold, fuel improvement/tune, then you will be ready for snapping half shafts and grenading the trans!! WOOHOO(lol2)(2thumbs)

Be interested in seeing that thing tuned. A lot cars show a small drop in performance with methanol before a tune and then ungodly numbers after. Im sure he will be ripping up asphalt when its all hooked up.

I copied this from elsewhere but heres the details on my car
We screwed up the solenoid install... there was some restrictor something or other that we didnt pull off the old turbo before i sent it off. Jordan at CPE and my tuner were on the phone, back and forth all day, After fixing the issues of the solenoid we then started getting our commanded boosts. We added and subtracted fuel and there was no problems...none. The timing was played with and we played with all sorts off other parameters... mostly centered around getting a smooth power curve.
A/F was great. We had added fuel intially down low and pulled some up top.... It stayed great all the way through the session... at least 20-30 pulls. A?F was in the 10.8-11.4 range after pulling it.. We didnt get much power by pulling fuel past that.
Final numbers for today were a heatsoaked 308whp and 320/trq at 16 psi tuned. Im a little disappointed but you have to remember that I was at about 260-270 on this dyno before. That means Ive gained about 40-50 whp with the manifold, inlet, and turbo running less psi.
Car is a rocket and I make power to redline. On the dynos I dont even start to fall until about 6400. On the other dyno in town I'd probably be around 325/340 based on previous runs, so dont be too disappointed with these numbers... Im mostly excited about the gains and the way the car feels. The BPV sounds like a sledgehammer now... its awesome. Turbo spool is VERY noticeable.
And again... huge.... is the a/f. Graph looks stock except for where we played. The fuel pump is working great, and I cant say enough about the standback and how great my tuner thought it was to use.
The guys at CPE and the standback should not be written off. Fuck anybody that gives me a hard time about it too.:) We adjusted fuel handily, timing, boost, pid control to smooth the curves and it worked.... Jordan spent most of the afternoon back and forth with Mark on the phone. Everything worked great once we sorted out our own mistakes.
All right.... ask away if you want too. And sorry I have no graphs, pictures, nada... they will be posted later. I was in a hurry to get out of there when they got done and my wife was pissed our first day back(from vacation).... I spent all afternoon with the car and was late getting home.
I think most of you know Im not making all this shit up though:)

Pale, very nice I don't need to see #S but I sure would like to see it run! Getting to Redline with breath left is my goal also. Nice, to all involved!

UPDATE
heres my numbers....BUT I believe I had a boost leak on the dyno. Two nights ago after having violent fuel cut for 2 days in 40-45 degree temperatures.... the leak turned into a breakdown. The intercooler hose blew completely off the throttle body. I had only put about 20 miles on the car before the temps dropped the following day. So either the hose came loose parked during the night, the drive home, or I was leaking on the dyno. Plus.... I am currently running about .5-1.0 point higher on my a/fs(wot after boost hits) than what we tuned for. this would lead tyou to believe..... boost leak!!!
After reattaching it.... SECURELY!!!. My fuel cut was gone and the car was considerably faster than it had been the day it came off the dyno. Its evrything I had hoped.... and more. Its frightening. Ive been driving it hard the last two days.... VERY hard. No problems with the engine.
Car is at 18 psi... no boost leaks. Running fine. Fuel added low, pulled high. Timing advanced 1 degree up top. Ive got endless discussion on the other board. But heres the graphs of the original dyno session done last friday.
I hope to get new graphs up next week. We still have work to do. Im posting these dynos, but I do not consider them indicative of the power Im currently making
Also consider this dyno is notoriously low. I have made 10-20whp more on the other dyno in town. Derek88, my buddy here, made 248whp on his peak run with mscai, racepipe and an iced intercooler on the same dyno. He was lower before we iced it.
fwiw....our cars are at about 3100rpms at 50mph..... 6000rpms at 95. We were running it right up to the rev limiter. Sorry I have speed instead of rpms in the a/fs.

Can't wait for the new stuff. I'm really glad you're taking such a cautious approach with this new snail. I have high hopes for the new graphs.

Woah woah woah.....481 tq? Got a higher res picture?
torque numbers were around 320 on the runs... when boost hit the leak kept it down..
the 481 is not accurate.
ahso......damn, we if you could get a higher res image? I wanna rub this in my s2000 loving friends face.

dude... wait till I dyno again. I had a boost leak with this one. I'll give you a dyno over 350whp, when I get back on. I gaurantee it. It'll be within the week.

Wow the A/F in these cars are crazy! Once the reflashes come out you should be able to tune it even better to keep the a/f above 10.5.

That is a good looking piece of work being accomplished here. Congratulations to you Palerider and your partners in a crime. The #350 is a bit more than I would like, but absolutely awesome that it is being done. And shared on our forum. Thanks and keep the reports coming in. It is sure a pleasure to read that folks are getting these buggies to really get along.

Weeks up, where's that dyno?
How exactly did you do your vacuum/solenoid, etc.
I have my Standback V2 sitting next to me, I want to be sure on avcuum routing before I install this thing. I also want to know if its safe to install it zerod out, for a week.. got the 3" MAF on there, before I hit the dyno next week for tuning.

man Ive got endless posts on all this stuff at the other forum where you are a vendor.. search my last 3-4 threads. Every issue you mentioned is discussed in depth...lol
Im pretty much done here... other than farting around. I got burned last week thanks to bullshit..... cost me 300 bucks. I just cant have the same discussion on three forums. Its rediculous that we cant all get together on one forum and really share info. im at the stage now where I need people to speak FREELY. Im gonna blow my engine up if guys cant speak their mind, or link to other places. How can you not link when this community is so damn split to begin with? Theres like 6 damn sites and I cant be on all of them.... WE HAVE to have links. Its bullshit to me.... and it drives more people away from here than it "shields".
For all the loyal 24/7 crowd.... Im at 323whp right now. The car as it stands is good for 20-30 more on the other dyno in town with some tweaking.....

Agreed. I like the people here and the content, but the cloak and dagger/hear no evil speak no evil horse shit, has about got me ready to leave. Ive been spending more and more time on the other forum, and in a few weeks when i learn to navigate that ridiculous interface, i may not be back. Im tired of missing out on important information because if the no link rule. I would have never made an account over there if i could just have been linked to their information. Brilliant.

You might be able to make a little more hp from cooling with a bigger core fmic ;) ... just my opinion ... lol
