Cant decide between Forge BPV and HKS SSQV Recirc

If sound is not a factor, which would be a better choice?
Im leaning more for the forge because it is cheaper but i want to hear what you guys think(this is forum right ? :P) before i make the decision.

I tried installing the HKS valve with a COBB SRI intake on, however I could not get the stock recirc hose to fit adequately around the intake no matter which way I turned the stock hose. Perhaps the valve itself could have been rotated on its mounting flange, but then I think there would be hood clearance issues. If you're looking to go with this specific combo, you might have to make a custom hose connection to set-up for by-pass. I have 2 pics at the house computer if anyone is interested.

On a lighter note, I've seen installs with the MS CAI, and they seemed to fit. The directions supplied with my valve illustrated the stock intake box, so I'd assume that it would not be a problem either.

Since all of you are so very interested...

Here are two views. It was the best I could fit the recirc hose around the intake, but recirc would almost be pinched off, and the intake tube was deformed slightly from the recirc hose as well. Although it can't be seen, the right side of the stock IC cover was being stressed from contacting the spaghetti mess of hoses now in the same vicinity.

I love the Forge...so much I have it for both of our DISI turbo vehicles.(laugh)

Install is REALLY easy.

I went with the HKS SSQV... Yes its more expensive, but you don't have to mess with springs and tuning it correctly by switching springs all the time. Plus, no one is really sure if the Forge is providing adequate or too much spring pressure against the piston during light loads/pressures. The blue spring seems fine for most people, but it still leaks slightly, the yellow spring is too weak, and the red is too firm...

HKS SSQV and Synapse Engineering are the only ones that don't use springs or adjustment screws etc; instead, the use the differential pressures to provide exactly the force needed to release the piston and vent. They are the fastest reacting BOV/BPV on the market... Plus, the added benefit that they can withstand any boost (1-7psi, moderate, 7-19, or high, 19-30 boost pressures) levels with zero leaks!!

I would settle for no less...

But thats just my opinion though...

I'm picking up my Synapse tomorrow night, wahoo. But originally, I went with the SSQV. My reasoning being is, well, all the Supra guys I know running big power go with that or TiAl, and I didn't see any TiAl valves for our car. But I reaallllllly wanted the Turbosmart, but as I said somewhere else, not even I could justify spending the same as a downpipe and a third of a midpipe for a BOV.

AutoX- Hope you don't mind me answering for you, but I think I might know where this question is heading...

Yes, he is running recirc with the HKS SSQV and has a MS CAI installed (at the moment anyways). I tried this valve with a COBB SRI, but was having clearance issues with the hose to make it recirc. I'm sure he will elaboarate more on his particular set-up, but the SSQV fit with little-to-no difficulty with a MS CAI installed (and running recirc). Last I read, he said the stock hose was fine, but he was going to look into replacing it with a better fitting tube from the hardware shop.

My intentions are not to turn people away from the HKS because if it fit my current set-up, I'd probably be telling you how much I liked it. I just want the community to be aware of how the two parts fit (or don't quite fit) in conjuction with each other and what may have to be done to make them fit together. Just didn't work out for me. Me and the HKS will be "just friends."

I am running recirculation with the stock recirculation hose and MS CAI. I bought the direct bolt-on kit and just R&R my stocker with the HKS... Literally took 10 mins.

I love my HKS...though, like I've said, I haven't experienced any other BPVs... I wish we could run VTA because the sound is intoxicating... (lol2)

Just to make things clear, I didn't buy this valve for sound, name brand, or anything else... I just wanted something I didn't have to mess with in regards to tuning; springs and adjustment knobs.

it seems couple people here had or are having problem with HKS SSQV.

It also seems that forge is better deal than HKS SSQV as it looks like nobody here can justify the steep price of SSQV over forge.

Now i just need to save money (headbang)

Its not loud at all inside... I have to turn down the radio if I want to hear it or best lower the window... Its almost quieter than stock...depends how much you boost. The loudest seems around 5-12 PSI, lower or higher than that its kind of quiet.

I made same decision as AutoX, no fussing with springs, shims, etc. I purchased the model specific bolt on unit like AutoX has. Did not install yet, weather here sucks. Maybe a couple weeks. But looks like 10 min (if that) job.
