I honestly have no idea what could cause this problem and I haven't read about it happeneing to anyone else but I figured I would see if anyone could possibly help. So far this has happened like 5 times since last night and I have not done any modifications to the car for a couple weeks.

While I was driving at like 45 the car just died but then came back on. I wasn't accelerating just cruising. Then it happened again a little bit down the road like 3 times in a row. After I turned the car off and let it sit I had to drive an hour back home and thankfully it never did that again. But when I went to get dinner tonight it did the same thing and when it shut off it was off for like 5 seconds before it would come back on. So far the only thing in common is that it has only happened at night and I was cruising.

Any ideas??

What mods do you have? When it conks out- do all the dashlights come on or does there appear to be a brownout? Is there an extended crank to get it going again?

Mods: Vibrant TBE w/o cat, SRI, 'twiggy' sticks, Greddy EBC, HKS TT, Optima red top.

Everything goes out just like when you turn the car off. But then it just kicks back on like nothing happened. I don't press in the clutch and try to jump it or anything...Im so lost

I had an issue just like this...

what it ended up being for me is a bent/loose positive battery terminal. I was actually able to tighten it all the way down and still slip off the cable alltogether, so I got a clamp and compressed it slightly and never had an issue since. However when this was my issue, there were times the car wouldnt start/had to pull over to readjust before the car would start again.

but things I would check on first -

-Battery terminals (but then Id think you would sometimes not start/die completely)
-Main Fuse 100a amp NEXT to enginebay fusebox.

start there, and verify anything within eyesight is tight and connected.

- distant third would be to check there isnt a short in any of your electronics - starting with your EBC, but I cant see anything shutting you down from that standpoint.

could it be the coilpacks not firing?

I had this same issue. It was an aftermarket battery connector that was grounding out on the hood of the car. Whenever I would pull into the driveway and hit a big bump it would kill my engine like I turned the key off and back on really quick.

Correct

This only happens while im driving and during different scenarios. I will try checking the battery terminal which that kind of makes sense now but I put it in weeks ago which is weird. Thanks for the ideas

Turns out that it was just the terminal being loose. Thanks for all your help
