Just to clarify: a Regular Protege ES. The LX/DX models have 4 lug hubs.

Yeah, any ES/MP3/MSP/P5 will take a 5x114.3 (5x5.5 if I remember correctly) stock +48 offset.

what I meant is that he doesn't have any wheels that fit our car. Only the MX-5, 3, 6, and RX-8.

k, i'll give you a little hint: if it fits one of those cars, has a width less than 7.5 inches, and an offset between 42-50, it will fit the protege.

I know, but I figured I'd throw that info out so that you can check the wheels you like and see if they'll fit yourself. PM him and see what he's got, he might be able to get ya something.

Sorry today is my "duh" day. . . well, that's to say that it's not always my "duh" day.

FYI, maybe this will help some of you in your rim selection.
The Racing Hart rims that come on the MSP are 17 x 7 with a 55mm offset. They are made by Enkei (at least that what is says on the back side of the rim.)
I think you can get away with something in the high 40's for an offset, like 48 or 45... but don't take my word for it. If you go with a lower offset and your car is lowered it will rub.
If you search around in the Mazdaspeed Protege Rim and Tire section there is some guy who created a fitment guide... I don't have the link. It goes into detail and takes into consideration the width of the tire as well...
Edit: Found fitment guide, http://www.msprotege.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9129
