Just got bored yesterday so I started painting the lip on my wheels! Turned out pretty sweet in my opinion. The color is like a candy red, almost an anodized look! I wanted to stay away from a bright red like most lips have. I think the subtle look is nice. I also matched the color to the stitching on the headrests. Tell me what you think, opinions welcome!

Looks good. I like the fact it isn't bright red.

I've never been a big fan of red lips, but those rims look amazing on your car. Great choice!

good job, did you take the tires off or just tape it off? either way looks great.

Thanks guys! I know that some might not like it but I was just trying to do something a little different.

BTW I just taped them off.

im curious to know what prep work you did...

because i think it looks good, but it might not last if it wasnt prepped right...

I sanded/scuffed, primed, layed down a coat of silver, then two coats of transparent candy red and then three coats of clear. It will last as long as any other paint that has been prepped properly....as long as I dont encounter any curbs!!!!

Usually I'm not a fan of painted rims, but those look great. Nice work my friend.

i did that to my fn01r-c's on my other car. it's a pain to tape it all off but it comes out great.

i used the 'anodized' krylon stuff with the silver base. looks like you used that too?

Exactly the same thing as I did...it takes awhile to do it right but in the end you cant argue with the results!

That looks pretty trick in those shots of the car. But on a side note, that where I was going to attach my Cork support emblem also seriously. now i'm pissed damn it! You don't live in upstate NY do you? Car looks very tastefull. Where'd you put the third one? Now listen, I put one half of th zoom- zoom sticky on a clean, brushed aluminum license plate bracket in rear. You didn't steal this from me too did you? peace

Thats too funny about the emblem! I don't have a third one just yet, but if I do get one I havent decided where I will put it. Oh and dont worry I live on the other side of the country, Washington State to be exact. Thanks for the compliments everyone, I thought that almost everyone wouldnt like it. This was my solution to buying new rims. 18 dollars vs 800 dollars.....ummm yeah I will take the 18!!!
