Amber sidemarkers

I have seen a few of you with amber sidemarkers. I've searched and searched with no luck finding that part. Is there a place I can purchase these or is it a DYI kinda thing?

Its funny that when people have stock amber side markers (like in my RX-8), they pay to swap out to clear. Now that clear is stock, people pay to go amber. :) I prefer clear.

meh, I've always hated clear lenses on black cars. I think the amber will look 100x better.

Its funny that when people have stock amber side markers (like in my RX-8), they pay to swap out to clear. Now that clear is stock, people pay to go amber. :) I prefer clear.

Yeah, I actually prefer clear on my Sunlight Silver. It is almost invisible until it comes on and then it really pops!

I painted mine flat black. They look badass when not lit up and look even better when they do. They are so bright that they still work better than most cars even completely painted in flat black.

here you go guys, i did amber to my sidemarkers a while ago. hopefully you can see them in this pic. i sprayed mine with an orange tint spray and they came out pretty good. this is before i knew about the tribute sidemarkers!

yup that night shades stuff works, gotta do a couple coats and it runs easy but after u done, it'll look great and still be functional

they might work for the protege/tribute but it seems like they're too long for the the speed3, looks like i might just spray my fogs and side markers the same amber ... *sigh* didnt want to go that route

just pop it out and then spray it, no problems messing up the factory paint


Piece of cake. I did mine months ago.. Grab the side marker.. The rear of the marker closest to the mirror/door area is where it will pop out. Just grab a hold of the sucker and pull, grabbing more towards the back. It will begin to pop out. Grab the rear piece as its popping out with your fingernail and it will come out. You could use a rag and a flathead screwdriver to help if you dont have any nails.

im afraid not, the covers are just the same as the headlights, you'll have to take the entire housing off, tape it up and then just spray them.

that would be cool. i was thinking about doing my fogs amber too but i went with yellow w/ yellow bulbs. :)

and to me, the orange isn't orange enough. compare the side marker with the corner light.

here's what you do about the side markers

get a couple pieces of scotch tape.

push the side markers over, toward the door and it should pop right out. :)

then, disconnect the wires and tape them to the fenders. i didn't do that and one of them fell into the fender. it was a bitch to get out!

ok it took me a while to take them off, didnt really want to pull too hard and deform the fenders.

the sidemarkers came out too orange for my liking so i'm gonna do them over

hey jam is the paint you used transparent? cause ive been searching for weeks trying to find some paint anywhere. went to the hobby shop like you said and he told me to go to an auto parts store.... those were the first places i visited; had nothing

and then you're all set for some JDM ;)
