so i was checking my oil today at chevron. first, i squeegied my windshield because my wiper fluid is out. so i lifted up the wiper blades to squeegie... no big deal. then i went to open the hood and i forgot to lower the blades!!! scrape! is all i heard. damnit. it left about a centimeter gauge where primer is now showing. ouch! its on the inside edge of the hood mostly, toward the windshield so you can't see it unless you're looking down at the wipers. it sucks that i did something so dumb that could have been prevented so easily.
:(

i think i'm going to go to a body shop tomorrow and see what the hell can be done about all of the flaws that are now in my paint. the hood scrape, the egging chips :( and recently a boulder hit the silver part right around my fog light (the part just around the lense) ... i think i might have that painted black along with my front grille... and then just have all the other little knicks touched up by someone good... hopefully. hmm... photoshop anyone?

so i'm not the only one? i feel much better. it's honestly not noticeable unless you're looking down the windshield at the wiper blades... ah well, shit happens i guess. i may just get it touched up the best it can be. atleast i know i'll never do that again.

this is nothing though. i almost ran over myself. outside the car. u tell me how.

I had put the brake up, and left the car in drive, got out to check the engine vibration and the mounts. I guess i forgot, but I dont know what made me play with the throttle plate...

its alright....i was putting in my trip pod for my gauges in mine and after i cut the whole in the oem piece and went to put the gauge pod in it didnt fit with the gauges so i decided to try to re-cut while it was in the car. of course i used a broken box cutter and when i did it slipped and left a small cut over the glove box dash. now i get in my car i look at that one flaw in my interior. it stares me down first though. lol.

Yep, it sucks when this happens.

I did the same thing with the right kickpanel plastic. I pulled it off wrong while doing my install, and I put a hairline crack in the plastic in a VERY visible place. I epoxied the parts back together so it would fit back in, but sure enough, its RIGHT THERE when you're driving. DOH!

few years back i got a brand new 04 lancer and well one weekend i had decided to just wash the car at home... i usually goto one of the jet spray do it yourself places... well i filled up the soap bucket and proceeded to wash... when i got done and still had some soapy water so the brilliant idea i had was well "F it ill just toss the rest on the car" so i proceeded to you know throw the water onto the car and give it one final wipe down..... damned if the bucket didnt slip outta my hands dent the hood and knicked the window.... fuck i was pissed... never again do i was at home now.

lol. you guys made me feel better. another stupid thing i did was... when i was putting back in the center console after installing the TWM bushings, i scraped up the inside of it just a tad. it doesn't look like a scrape, it looks like there was a sticker there before or something. a little spot turned a greyish color. other than that my interior is pretty flawless. oh! well, the part right above the hazards light, where that new guage pod would go, there was something on it so i decided to lick my finger and rub it out and it turned the plastic a shinier, lighter color in that area. doh! it's almost like you should own the car twice to make sure you don't make any mistakes. :)

lol. yeah, i was kinda thinking it's mazdas fault. if they hadn't made the windshield wiper fluid container so small, i never would've had to squeegie my windows and never would've lifted up the wiper blades. mazda owes me! :)

Man, I did something like that the other night. I was carrying my desktop computer down to put it in my car and very slowly, gently, leaed it against the side so I could open the door and as I did, my hips accidentally shift just enough to put several scratches in the side with the edge of the puter. I was ****ING PISSED!!!! I almost thru the puter on the ground.

I've done just that with Supras. I had an 89 and a 91. It didn't help! You just find new mistakes.
