So I tried my Mechanical abilities on a non instructed, Cheap FMIC (Front Mount Intercooler). Now that its done, im quite pleased with it. It Even cured a Rough Idle problem I was having. Basically all I used was an MX6 GT Turbo Intercooler (OEM) and a few different Radiator Hoses and Exhuast pipe peices cut into 3 inch sections I picked up from Knecks Auto Parts. Total in parts (W/O the Intercooler) was 32$. So here we go, have a looksy.

quick question...
what year did those b6 engines come out? the ones that have the intake tube going over the top of the cam cover instead of the ones that goes to the side.

The original B6T came out in.....mid 80's? We didnt see them here in the states till 1988.

thanks for the info. is that manifold more compact compared to the later versions of the b6 intake manifold? the later versions are similar to the bp intake manifolds.

Well, I have the later one, and its still smaller then the BP-BPT versions.
The earlier ones where a little different in size and shape. Never could figure out why, but the older ones where imprinted/engraved with "TURBO", the newer ones have a danm decal.
Very nice Sleeper. :) How tight of a fit was yours?

is it possible to swap the older and newer manifolds between b6 engines regardless of the year it was released?

I dont think so only becuase stud patterns on the head are going to be different. As far as I know atleast.
