View Full Version : Fog light lens
Alright......a rock (must have been) put a hole in one of my glass fog light lenses. I noticed because water got in there and popped the bulb. I took it to my dealer to get the bulb replaced (not knowing I had a hole in the lens) and they said it would be around $500 to replace ($375 or so for the housing, and $95 in labor). According to the dealer, a replacement lens couldn't be ordered, and the entire light housing needed to be replaced.
Anyone know of a cheaper alternative?

Is this a speed or a reg 3? If a reg 3, there are tons of foglights on ebay you could choose from. If a speed3, youre screwed mate. Speed 3 alternative would be pop both stock fogs out, make them into air ducts for the brakes. Than install aftermarket fogs in the black grill.
2007 speed3. Not sure i'm ready for major reconstruction, although I'd consider it rather than giving my dealer $500 for that. Perhaps i'll go the cheap route and put a protective sticker/film over the broken light.......and hope if keeps water out. Man that's rediculous........$500 to replace a few square inches of glass......there has to be a cheaper solution!

film is the first thing i am going to buy for my lights to stop this from happening and any kind of chips
Potential good call on the 3M clear bra kit......pre-cut material for fogs and head lights run about $40 + tax/shipping. I'll probably just order these unless someone has a better solution.
