Mazdaspeed 3 / Protege Gear swap?

I want to drop in the Mazdaspeed3 2nd gear, as my first gear. It's a 2.238:1 ratio, compared to the 3.3 on our first gear. I simply just can not hook up in 1st, making it basically unuseable. Then second (stock) goes to 1.842:1 basically, with the MS3 2nd gear as our 1st, the diff between the new 1st and 2nd would be the same as stock 2nd and 3rd, a much better jump.

I know some of the PR guys have swapped from the normal 3 trans, but what about the A26M-R 6 speed from the MS3?

Turns out it won't. The other half of the 2nd gearset is a part of the actual output shaft on the 6 speed gearbox, and the parts are not interchangeable.

Too bad, I was going to buy the 2nd gearset for the hell of it and try it out...
