I use Nufinish polish for swirl marks and to clean the area after I clayed it with some Griots.

Zymol, just because it's expensive. (shady)
It leaves a nice shine and is easy to apply.

ah the old wax debate.
if you want long lasting protection, a synethetic sealant is in order. however, a carnuba wax like megs gold class IMO is more for appearance than protection.
if you want something versatile, that gives a nice wet look, check out meguiars NXT paste. i believe NXT2 just came out... its a synthetic wax thats very durable thats perfect for monthly applications.

i heard that 60% of the time, it works everytime...
but anyways, i personally like ice as well. i think it depends on the color of ur car tho. i like ice cause its easy to put on, and it doesnt leave white residue anywhere. its pretty much trial and error tho, my buddy hated ice, and i liked it.
i have a liquid platinum ms6 so im not too worried bout the residue stuff, but ice is just a lot easier to apply and it lasts pretty long and gives the clean wet look, along with the smooth feel (cool)
but my buddy has a black audi a4, and he hated it.
like i said, trial and error.

I used Ice on my old civic I had. It was a 94 and had plenty of rock chips in the hood. Using a paste wax would get stuck in all the chips. Making them stick out. Ice, made them blend, and you couldnt tell they were there really. I liked it a lot.
Now that I have my 6, I can't wait to claybar it, and get some Ice on it to see how it holds up. Waiting for the weather to warm up.
Really Claybarring a car I have found is really what makes the difference in the way the paint feels.

Zaino Bros. Nothing else matters. Specially since I hurt my back, Zaino is effortless to apply. Wipe on, wait 30 mins depending on heat, come back and "dust" off.
