I decided that i dont want to build my motor so I'm wondering if i had theses mods on a stock block how would it work.
Ported exhst mani
pg intake mani single runner
corksport s pipe
gt28 turbo
vibrant exhaust
corksport fmic
corksport radiator
spec stage 2 clutch
welded lsd
unichip custom tune
wrx 440 injectors
Thats the new list of current or mods need to be added could this be safe for a daily driver at 9 psi?

Upgrade the spark plugs and go a stage colder.
Keep in mind that 9psi on a GT28 is different from 9psi on the stock T25.

of course! i need to get a new turbo soon so im thinking a gt25 ported and upgraded gt28 wheel with that set up at 9 psi custom tune.

i dont get it.. i asked that question about the plugs a month ago and at 9 psi they told me to stay with stock hat range..
why would you want to go colder with a GT28 ?

i believe its due to the increase in airflow from upgrading to a bigger turbo

I've been hearing a lot of spark plug debate lately. I'm going to stay with my stock heat range when I start tuning this spring. If for some reason a little detonation starts, I'll try a step colder. However, I've heard that it is not entirely necessary.

The 6 series plugs are fine at that psi and more. Don't believe me, put some in for a while and then pull them out and look at them. If your engine is otherwise okay you will not see any issues on them.

i want to have good performance like around 230 whp plus be albe to drive it to work every day
whats the difference between a gt28 9 psi and a t25 9 psi? I hear alot of talk about this and I dont get it 9 psi is 9 psi any way you look at it

its the air mass which is the difference plus the turbo's spool at different times and hit peak boost at different times aswell gt25 has more low end power and gt28 has more high end power.
so is 9psi more powerful with the 28 than the 25?

the flow is way bigger at the same psi..
I dont understand that, pounds per square inch (psi) is the force that air is applying to a certain area in this case a square inch. if you increase your turbo size ie. from 25 to a 28 the psi is still going to be the same. This value doesnt change just because you have a bigger turbo housing. 1psi = 1psi either way you slice it. its the mass air force being applied. Also your psi reading would read the amount of air being forced into the intake. If you have more 'flow' you have more pressure.

ok here we go let try to break this down for you. 14.7 lbs/mercury of atmospheric pressure is the ideal level for a na motor at sea level. once you go above or below that ammount changes which in hand reduces the performance of your viechle. The reason turbocharged and supercharged performance came about trying to reach the optimal level of constant 14.7/lbs at levels above or below sea level. I get what your saying that 9psi is 9psi and that is correct but 9si with a gt25 and 9si with a gt28 is different. A boost guage measures psi of suction not mass airflow into the engine. Have you ever seen a flow chart? That indicates how much air a turbo flow at a certian boost level. It would be like you have a smaller straw and blowing into vs a larger straw no matter how hard you blow the bigger straw will flow more air just based on the size difference. It is no different with turbo's.

what about spool times? someone told me that you just cant slap on the biggest turbo money can buy on your car because it wouldnt spool the turbo until theres X amt of exhaust pressure. anyone want to explain? is that also why the 28 spools slower than the 25? because of bigger housing? and is better for high rmps becuase of the exhause pressure is higher?

ok here we go again haha. turbo size is all relitive to size of the engine and modifications to the engine. if you took your msp and put a gt40 on it that thing would not even spool because you arn't running enough boost and you dont have a strong enough motor if you check out those links i post it list the turbo and egine size suggested and horse power those are all things to take into account when buying a turbo. You are correct in you thinking to you do need a certian ammuont of exhaust gases to push the wheel of your turbo charger a gt40 wouldn't spool until probably 5k in our cars haha

if all you want is 230 you do not need a turbo or to upgrade the internals in it. I have 230 right now on the t-25. with few mods and a horrible tune. I just have a fmic, twiggy cams, cai, microtech ems. I am unsure what the boost was on when it was on the dyno but I think around 10 or so.

can u post a pick of how you routed ur piping and what size is that core?
if you look at my sig you can actually see the piping i do have more pics on my external drive though i could most them tomorrow, the core dimensions are 24x6x3.5
