As a side note, yesterday I hit second hard and there was this HUGE bump up front. I thought my engine was going to fall out. I'm hoping the mount will fix this. anyone else experienced anything similar? I'm basically stock.

thats not true, you can post all the race videos you want as long as they are sanctioned races in racetracks; not street racing.

It's a major bummer. I don't condone street racing but at the same time don't deny it's at least a small part of this hobby/lifestyle. I seriously doubt anyone sees this, or any other car forum as a place to promote that sort of thing.
I've seen complaints about the lack of car related topics. Narrowing what's acceptable as a discussion base is detrimental to that.
People make stupid decisions with or without the no street race discussion rule.
Many times the discussions got heated in regard to how foolishly the drivers were. To me, that's GOOD. Self policing can be powerful. Instead, turn a blind eye. If we don't discuss it, we can pretend it doesn't exist. Besides, it allows more time for "how to have sex with your car" threads.
I'm on several motorcycle forums. Lots of jackasses riding 140mph wheelies on interstates and lots of passing cars @ triple digits on double yellows.
Is that discussion banned on any of those forums? NO. It's discussion.
Does it get heated? Damned right. I was a moderator and admin for a site a bit larger than this one. (cycleforums.com) Did it make some work for the moderating staff? Most definitely. However, that's why I offered to lend a hand.

if you want to discuss street racing you are welcome to join www.streetracingrulz.com or some site like that.
the policy in this forum is that we will not discuss street racing. 1 of the reasons is that we do not want to be a moral police.
We are not turning a blind eye, we know it exists an we do not want it discussed here. Another reason is that we are not going to be enablers for people that streetrace; part of the streetracing problem is that some people do it to show off; well you cant do it here. you also have noobs thinking they are cool and coming to forums to learn where the spots are, etc. we are not going to enable that.
its just forum rules; if you dont like it then the interwebs is pretty big im sure you can find a street racing forums somewhere.

it maybe the dumbest rule, at least we are no the dumbest drivers racing on the streets. if its not to show it off then why dont you go to a track and race it there, it is safer and you can get some time slips, etc.
yes it does encourage it. all your groupies will see it, they will do some kind of mod to their car and then go street race it and make video of it like laloosh! yipee!
the fact that you dont think it enocurages and promotes street racing tells me you are just an idiot with no common sense.

It's perfectly fine to disagree and state your case as to why, but when you have to resort to name calling, it makes it a little harder to take you seriously.
There's an old expression: "he who raises his voice first has lost the argument." Resorting to insults has pretty much the same effect.

btw newsflash, just becuase u dont see it on this board doesnt mean it doesnt happen.
going to the track, which has been closed since december, prooves one thing, that you have the ability to hook up. Doin a lil street racing prooves which car is actually faster, not which driver. Don't get me wrong i dont go to organized street racing events, never have, never will. i just do lil pulls with people i know, hence we tape it. We do it at night and theres no1 around. i live the boonies, the only way im dying is if i hit a deer. if i hit that deer at 120 or 65 it wont matter, either way the car is fucked and im getting hurt.
please tell me how street racing is different from just flooring your car. im sure you have floored your car to triple digits since u got it. if u havnt....www.autotrader.com , you bought the wrong car

I never said it doesn't, although I agree with the board rule, because I happen to think that street racing is insane. Too many variables that only have the illusion of being controlled. I don't think they should encourage it in any way, shape or form. Don't bother using the teen sex analogy, it doesn't apply here. If you want to use that, a better one would be, should you knowingly allow your teenage daughter to go to places where it would be easy (and likely) for kids to be fooling around? No one said that banning racing videos and discussions as to where they are filmed is going to stop it, but there is no point in encouraging it or making it easier.

You of all people should know better than to try to pass off this bit of BS. Any race is always about the car and the driver. The fastest car does not always win. In fact, a better driver is more likely to take a lesser vehicle to victory than the other way around.
please tell me how street racing is different from just flooring your car. im sure you have floored your car to triple digits since u got it. if u havnt....www.autotrader.com , you bought the wrong car
Of course I have. But only when there is absolutely no one else around. I made that mistake once in traffic chasing down someone who went flying by in the left lane and as soon as I caught him and realized how fast I was going I decided I was a moron and slowed the hell back down. All it takes is for one person to change lanes without looking (or one jackass to take it upon himself to "slow that a-hole down") and boom, dead drivers. I don't want that on my conscience. It would also royally piss off my wife if I made her a widow.
Driving fast on an empty road by yourself is not the same as racing. You now have two drivers who can cause your untimely death, not just yourself. Either one of you could screw up or have a mechanical failure that will take out the both of you.

the fact is, just cuz ppl do it, doesnt make it right. I have driven my car quite fast on the road, which is just as illegal as street racing. The difference is that I don't have a video camera in my hand and post that on a forum to show how cool I am. It doesnt make what im doing any more or less wrong than what youre doing, i know that. The forum made the rule because it doesnt want to promote illegal activities, especially ones that could endanger the lives of its memberss or the general public.
The important thing here is that there are rules here on the site, you have to abide by them and we have to enforce them. Its a simple as that. If you don't like it, well thats too bad...

this forum also has a photo/video section filled with these videos. If you ever ventured outside this section, you might notice that we also have a motorsports section for this type of thing. Track videos are allowed... street, donuts, whatever videos arent allowed. Go ahead and make ur poll if that will make you happy, but it will not accomplish anything. Liar, everybody knows these cars are computer limited on top speed.
My friend said same and gps'ed my ass and 147 was 147 we checked lower speeds and they all matched up. I was surprised too honest. At 147 I had myself and two guys about 240lbs on a side road car started to get scary so stopped that stupid shit. I'm not trying to be cool but it read 162 on a long stretch of flat road with just me, that probably was sloped down. As far as speed limiters, This may be a safety statement, my dodge was supposed to be set at 129 but speedo said 136 137 on oem 16s. Neither cars are stock does that make a difference? Has anyone driven on {ahem) a closed course above the 6000 rpm limit of 154.5 in sixth gear?
