Just got this quote from my dealer and wondering if this is a good deal.

Options
GT Assist Package
Moonroof/Bose Package
Autodimming mirror w/homelink & compass
Wheel Locks

MSRP - $40075
Invoice - $37272 (according to their inventory sheet, which they showed me)

Dealer quote - $37472 + they'll throw in all-weather mats & 1 free oil change.

I've worked with 3 other dealerships in my area, and none of them could come within $400 of this price.

Thoughts?

I paid $36,416.58 on October 2007. Mine does not have Autodimming mirror w/homelink & compass, but it is aditinoal $200 for White mica. MSRP was $39,970. Does the one you quoted has a park assist?

Wow, over $1000 less? For the same car with the same options?

Park assist? I didn't think that's an option, is it?

Mine was manufactured before September 07. If I remember correctly, after that park assist is a part of the GT trim. Someone please correct me if I am wrong. Well, re options I said that I do not have a fancy mirorr, but mine have an additional charge for the paint. I guess, paint and mirorr cost about the same ($200?). So yes, same options. What dealer gave you that price (you are in NY, correct?) Also, are you trying to buy or lease?

On '08 GT AWD, it is very easy to get
invoice - $500 in SF Bay Area.
I had 1 offer with -$600.
If you drive even harder, you could get upto -$1000 (special case I heard of)
There was a $500 coupon when CX-9 got the MT SUV of the Year. If I had used that, it would have been -$1000 from invoice. I am sure someone did.
The coupon ended on Jan/31/2008.

I am in Connecticut, where AWD cars (SUV's in particular) are hot sellers. I think maybe that's why I couldn't get any offers at or below invoice.

Some really good deals in that thread, but I wonder how many are from up here in NE. I think by 'Park Assist', you're referring to Blindspot Monitoring. No?

Anyways, the mirror is $275 list.

Eh, it's ok that I didn't squeeze out every last hundred dollar on the deal. I was minutes from pulling the trigger on an Acura MDX, so I saved myself $8K right there. :)

Well I used the coupon mentioned by ceric, may be thats why I got it $1000 below. And yes, Park assis is the Blindspot Monitoring. Its get activated when car put on reverse.

??? Blind spot monitoring is active when you are driving down the road. It notifies you if there is a vehicle in your blind spot--has nothing to do with backing in reverse or parking.

Parking assist is not available on the CX-9. If you have NAV you get the rear backup camera, which engages when you reverse.

Exactly what I thought too.

Sorry for the late reply, kencx. I got the Touring FWD with the Bose/Moonroof package and all weather mats. I added the back-up camera in the rearview mirror and 20" OEM wheels, bought off of a member here, later. Grand total of $29K. MSRP was $34.5K and would have been more with the camera and wheels. As you can see, they were really wanting to move the '08s...

Up until Saturday we were sold on the Saturn but were frustrated w/ our dealer/salesperson. I drove a GT on Monday and really liked it. Offer on the table now is for a Stormy blue GT w/ GTA, sirius, bose/sunroof, dockable entertainment system and roof rails. MSRP is something like $41.8 and offer is for $33.8 (I believe this works out to about $4,000 below invoice). No word on what they've valued our trade at- this might be a dealbreaker.

I haven't seen the dockable ent. system in person- I wonder if the sunroof lowers the roofline so the screen impedes visibility in rear view mirror
(this was a concern of ours w/ the saturn).

They want the deal done by thursday. Can't help but wonder what the number would be on Friday- I can't imagine it would go up.

Dealers around here have a TON of CX-9's to sell.

Just bought ours not long ago, had a MSRP of about $35,500 and it was discounted to $28900 and, with our $3000 trade, we took it home for $26,900 OTD.

Definitely an awesome car, especially for the discounts now. They still had a new '07 Touring FWD with moonroof/BOSE asking $24k.

Got mine last Tuesday - White Crystal Metallic, GT-AWD w/ Nav, Moon roof, blinds spot monitor (the works!). MSRP over $41k. Got it for a little over $37k (Ford S-plan price) w/ the 1.9% 60 mos. plan. Traded my '04 Sienna lease at $2.5k loss vs. payoff.

This car handles like a friggin' sports car...Love it!!
