Hi Simon,

Whats with the front parking sensors?, I was not aware of this option(dunno)
Is it genuine Mazda ? and at what cost?

Cheers Clarke

They are not an option....I insisted the dealer sourced them for me and installed them aftermarket through the dealership.

Not real sure of the exact cost because they were part of the whole package including rear parking sensors as well.....the rear camera in the CX9 is great but even safer with the parking sensors.

The warranty coinsides with Mazda because it was installed by their preferred supplier, so there is piece of mind. I am pretty sure the parking sensor supplier is around the Slacks Creek/Springwood area!

They are worth every cent IMO especially when you can park 100mm away from anything in front of you with complete confidence...as you know these CX9's dont have great visability when judging how close you are parking.

Hi Clark,

Thanks for the welcome, The blue looks great, Saw my first one today. You guys had some crazy weather last night down the coast. My wife and I are Blaze season ticket holders " Basketball". Our 16 mth daughter loves the games. Well the Auto wippers got a good workout haha.

Glad you like the door lights. It gives the inside a nice white/light blue look.
It was very easy to instal. Bought from Autobarn, 3LED wedge bulb. Brand was Monza.

Hey Steve,
Welcome from another Brissy boy!

Where abouts in Brisbane do you live?

I have also added some Blue LED bulbs for the parking lights on my CX9 just to see what it would look like......I think it looks better than the standard amber bulbs

Cheers,
Simon

Hi Aussie,

Great lights. I was thinking of doing the same thing. Did you change them yourself And if so was it hard to do? Or get mazda to do it? I know with my 6 I just didn't have the room to fit my hand in. I'm from Redland Bay.

Well good news all, Tomorrow my wife and I are having twin boys !!! yeah.

Congrats Steve, we had a son 12 weeks ago but unfortunately my 23 month daughter is still a bit jealous

All the best!

P.S. I Did the lights myself....very easy to do you just need to remove the coolant tank to get access on the drivers side of the car, the passenger side has loads of room.

Hi everyone.

Well the twins are here and doing great. Sleep is a thing of the past haha. You know what I'm talking about Aussie LOL.
Seeing as I now have a few weeks off from work I'll try fit in a little time for the 9. Have a New mod to the CX9, See pics. Cheap, easy, and looks great. Gone with the yellow parking bulb and say hello to the bright sexy white/blue 6pin LED's. WOW I just love it. Let me know what you think :-)

Also seeing as we all got ripped off with the Xenon HID lights here in Aus " Thanks Mazda OZ " Next week I'll be putting in a HID 6000k Conversion Kit. Will post pics once done.

CX9 with HID Xenon's :-)

Hi CX 901,

The first pic is the before photo with the standed parker bulb. Note : very yellow. This is with the white 6 pin LED. It was so easy to fit as they are a wedge bulb. Just look in your CX9 manual and it will show you how to remove the old bulb.

Great News ALL !!!!!! Sat Nav is here !!! Found out today from my dealer. Price $2200. having a look at one next week before i order it.

That's good news? $2200 for something that should be a couple of hundred dollars at most? Don't forget the LCD is already there etc. They only need to add the GPS receiver and software. I'd probably even stretch to $500 for the luxury of having it all integrated into the dash rather than use a separate unit. But for $2200 they can stick it where they will need a GPS to find it.

I agree 100%

Does anybody know if aftermarket installs are available here in Aust. yet using the touch screen?

And if so, Who?

From what mazda told me they need to replace the whole screen. so it's a complete new unit. why...... who knows.

From what mazda told me they need to replace the whole screen. so it's a complete new unit. why...... who knows.

So they can try to justify the ridiculous price. A 7" LCD to a car manufacturer would be well under $100 so it is still VERY hard to see how they can charge $2200 for it.

Did you ask how much map updates will be? Updates for most portable GPS units are $100-200 (or free if you know where to look). Updates for built-in GPS units are generally closer to $1000. Why ..... who knows?

My brother has a Subaru Tribeca that has navigation as standard. His update discs are around $200. I find factory fitted navs are better than portable ones, bigger screen and more reliable.
