Now, owning a Corvette ZR1 is going take a hefty bank account – costing near $100,000. But, if you’ve got the itch for the horsepower and don’t have the dough, Callaway has a cheaper alternative.
The Connecticut-based tuner shop has introduced a supercharger package for base model Corvettes. The upgrades include an Eaton / Magnuson supercharger, upgraded fuel, intake and exhaust systems, and, of course, a new computer.
The Callaway upgrades will let your Vette push 580 horses - 40 less than the ZR1 - and 510 lb-ft. of torque. This doesn’t come cheap at $18,500, but add that to the Corvette base price of $46,950, it’s a heck of a lot cheaper than the ZR1.
Other upgrades are available from the company, such as brakes, suspension package, seats, interior, and tires.
